They believe that a middleground between two opposing sides is the "most right" But this is not how facts work, nor is it how compromise actually works. Facts dictate that one side is bound to be more justified. I think we've all seen the facts for ourselves. We've seen what the opposition believe is happening, and we've got loads of evidence to counter that. They might be delusional, but we strive to see all facts. In doing so, we establish ourselves as the most justified argument. Do not accept their attempts at compromise. Do not concede a neutral article is great because it's neutral. The Tech Crunch and EA Director bits are an awesome step for us. Whether they're paid PR or not, we need to use them as stepping stones for our next course of action Do not absolve the game journalists yet. Do not let the PR folks come in and clean up this mess. Examine every article's arguments critically. Even if it agrees with you, point out mistakes. Correct with further evidence. We've got the facts on our side, and this will only make our arguments more bulletproof. Don't blast neutrality, but don't accept it as more reasonable than our demands just because it's "neutral". Working at Polygon

9 hours ago (edited) I dont normally ask for thumbs up but true story I got one for the honey badgers they need to see: A company I owned did a series of commission work for Polygon/Vox when they first launched a couple yrs ago. Like literally our work ws part of the front page promo for Polygons website launch. After the gig was over, I was chatting with one of the execs at Polygon/Vox via email about small talk because we got along pretty well (not saying who he is but hes a senior guy aint no blogger thats for sure) and he brought up the subject about some outside of work event he was going to and it had something to do with feminists. Being done with work, and being chil as we were, I just came out and said something about being utterly unconvinced of most of the feminist assertions. Not that they were necessarily wrong by virtue of being feminist, not that they were shitlords, not kitchen jokes or anything like that, just that I was unconvinced on some major points and found most of the assertions like wage gap et al flawed (1: bc Im a numbers guy by trade and can spot that kinda stats fallacy easily. And 2 This is right when I just started coming onto GWWs videos which were way better argued/sourced and more persuasive) Big mistake on my part. He shat bricks, I will never forget it. Not just via email but he then said some choice words to me on twitter in some passive way about how he was dissapointed some people he thought were one way are actually another and close minded and all this s--- from a grown man. Like I was under his wing or some s--- started just turning up on me for no good reason in public. This was crazy embarrassing as a company for me and Im not about that twitterbug stuff,so when I challenged him to just chill and talk about it over email where its not on front street the dude just wrote me off in an email talking bout how I must not care about my mom and my sister and all this. And thats verbatim, he literally said I must not care about my mom. lve never harder in my life fought the urge to have a hood reaction harder Whole time in my head Im like aint this a bitch - me, a black man from Milwaukee (one of the most segregated cities in america several yrs running) getting lectured by this liberal older white dude about the intricacies of discrimination and basically being called a bigot.... well needless to say I was done with his SJW azz right there got my check and didnt want to come back for follow up gigs but wasnt invited to anyway. (Check my website for proof we did I think 5 pieces for them and maybe like 3 got published - all commissioned video game remixes) That was like 2-3 yrs ago I never forgot that though and this is wayyy before this whole quinn business but I didnt really see the writing on the wall then - I had no idea this would be like systemic or a big problem like it is now. When I created The AntiThinker, he was supposed to embody an exaggeration of the absolute worst in gamer culture. Turns out, I didn't exaggerate enough Patricia Hernandez over at Kotaku points the way to a new candidate for gaming's worst human: A (popular, of course) YouTuber who puts up "how-to" videos instructing his followers on how to harrass female gamers for the crime of playing video games while female "justified," of course, by the idea appeal that these women are only gaming as a way to "con" poor, helpless men out of their money with sex I'm not going to link directly to his stuff, but you can get the gist of it and watch (if you want to) from Hernandez piece HERE. The whole thing is nothing short of revolting, top to bottom, particularly the sociopathic glee that the guy takes is carrying out and encouraging what's basically a keyboard and a mouse away from what'd be (verbal) sexual assault in the real world. But I'm particularly fascinated/repelled by the argument of him, his fans and too many of the Kotaku commenterati that somehow this is t---for-tat payback" because some of the women MAY be using their sex-appeal for attention or even monetary gain - essentially "they're W-----, so they had it coming First off, the thing is... I don't give a s---. Setting aside that I have no real moral objection to (ethical) sex workers in the real world, I see absolutely NOTHING wrong the flirting-for-attention/cash "camgirl" phenomenon in gamer culture or otherwise on the net. How #GamerGate wins, part 1 Hello, friends I think it has become clear from the responses of game journalists over the past week that no amount of revelations or evidence of collusion emerging from GameJournoPros is going to shame them into doing the right thing. And that outrage drives #GamerGate forward. All of this is vital, and Milo, Based Mom, and Adam Baldwin should all be applauded for being public figures on our side Nor do l want to dismiss the work of Internet Aristocrat, mundanematt, the NotYourShield Project, Camera_Lady and SFO, and synthovine's crew. Kotaku and that 6 month ago bomb threat are clear evidence they're desperate for views & attention. That was them showing weakness, they'd do anything to cover it up. 1 They've already milked everything they can, with more accurate GamerGate coverage they won't be winning views with click bait BS in the coming months, GG isn't acting up anymore and there wont be any 'shock news from our side to capitalize on. . 2 Look at Kotaku's steam curator followers. Total Biscuit has 162k followers. Kotaku has 19k. The numbers are clear, Kotaku fans aren't even really gamers. 3 They're most likely purposely cutting costs firing people etc just so they can afford to buy views in order to discourage you. It's worth it for them to buy views just so you think you're having no effect, but they can't sustain that for long 4 They're using other clickbait BS to promote themselves, you click a square image link with a 'shock' header you don't even know goes to Kotaku or Poly, I've definitely seen it but idk where- I don't really look at shitpostbait sites often. 5 Pro GG people have been trolling the site looking for more inconsistencies. At this point, there's much less need to view pages & there's many more pages archived. We were accidentally boosting ratings, shouldn't happen anymore 치ng disappointed with the amount of people who used direct links today Honestly, we need to remind people to USE ARCHIVE I'm very really bad, that's thousands of views. That was them showing weakness, they'd do anything to cover it up. 1 They've already milked everything they can, with more accurate GamerGate coverage they won't be winning views with click bait BS in the coming months, GG isn't acting up anymore and there wont be any 'shock news from our side to capitalize on. . 2 Look at Kotaku's steam curator followers. Total Biscuit has 162k followers. Kotaku has 19k. The numbers are clear, Kotaku fans aren't even really gamers. 3 They're most likely purposely cutting costs firing people etc just so they can afford to buy views in order to discourage you. It's worth it for them to buy views just so you think you're having no effect, but they can't sustain that for long 4 They're using other clickbait BS to promote themselves, you click a square image link with a 'shock' header you don't even know goes to Kotaku or Poly, I've definitely seen it but idk where- I don't really look at shitpostbait sites often. 5 Pro GG people have been trolling the site looking for more inconsistencies. At this point, there's much less need to view pages & there's many more pages archived. We were accidentally boosting ratings, shouldn't happen anymore 치ng disappointed with the amount of people who used direct links today Honestly, we need to remind people to USE ARCHIVE I'm very really bad, that's thousands of views. We need people to keep pushing ad sites and denying views. Seriously, you want to help? Write some e-mails, make our voice louder. It might help if someone could do a weekly infographic on who's shown themselves as allies with GG. Kotaku doesn't have infinite money, they're definitely falling. Polygon might be funded and upheld by a network we don't really know, but they'll probably be harder to rating damage than Kotaku. PS I know Gawker and Vox, but who knows with this industry!? Even if we don't see results right away, IT'S WORKING.
