X Journalists would make claims of people like Anita Sarkeesian "playing video games all her life" when she openly admitted many times she is not a gamer and only starter recently (when it wasn't for an interview). Various developers trading sex or money for good reviews got exposed, journalists who accepted got exposed. People became a bit more critical about supporting a game just because the developer has a victim complex stating tat their game could have only failed because of sexism, instead of their own poor developing skills. What really sealed the deal was opposition often faking their own harassment. Anita sarkeesian and Zoe Quinn have been caught multiple times screenshotting "harassment" while showing that the harrasser's account name in the login. Or when someone called the police to help Sarkeesian against a "very real threat" she was posting about, only for police to find the harasser's messages were coming from her IP address. How #GamerGate wins, part 1 Hello, friends I think it has become clear from the responses of game journalists over the past week that no amount of revelations or evidence of collusion emerging from GameJournoPros is going to shame them into doing the right thing. The fact of the matter is, the only audience they have left is the audience that a) doesn't know about #GamerGate, or b) knows but disagrees or doesn't care. There's literally no impetus for them to come clean. publicly apologize, or change their practices. At this point, they really ARE acting as if gamers are dead. To them we might as well bee Don't get me wrong, Milo's work on GJP is a breath of fresh air into our movement. Each wave of evidence bolsters our claim, our rallying cry that game journalism is corrupt and biased and pushing a very clear political agenda. Perhaps equally important, after each fresh revelation, the fact that games journalists shrug and go "So what?" only further fuels our (very, very justified) outrage. And that outrage drives #GamerGate forward. All of this is vital, and Milo, Based Mom, and Adam Baldwin should all be applauded for being public figures on our side Nor do l want to dismiss the work of Internet Aristocrat, mundanematt, the NotYourShield Project, Camera_Lady and SFO, and synthovine's crew. They have all done really important work that, quite honestly, we could be digging into for the foreseeable future. Again, though, their work has gone largely ignored by the gaming press and will continue to be ignored. This was shortly after he complained about his publication coming under scrutiny by a few admittedly oversensitive members of #GamerGate. Even the neutrals are joining the hugbox, people I asked a question last night of the #NYS stream. I asked them if they thought #GamerGate was going to become an industry fixture, its own ecosystem. The 140 characters limited what I was trying to say: If #GamerGate is the new normal (and I think, for the moment, that it is), what do we do next? Where do we go from here? I also asked if we were the Watchmen; what I meant was, Are we going to be perpetually watching the Watchmen? And here's the truth: I don't think so. I think there's still work for #GamerGate to do, but I don't think it's clea ng up Kotaku, Polygon, and their ilk. The numbers are clear, Kotaku fans aren't even really gamers. 3 They're most likely purposely cutting costs firing people etc just so they can afford to buy views in order to discourage you. It's worth it for them to buy views just so you think you're having no effect, but they can't sustain that for long 4 They're using other clickbait BS to promote themselves, you click a square image link with a 'shock' header you don't even know goes to Kotaku or Poly, I've definitely seen it but idk where- I don't really look at shitpostbait sites often. 5 Pro GG people have been trolling the site looking for more inconsistencies. At this point, there's much less need to view pages & there's many more pages archived.
