Coming Clean Posted on February 11, 2015 by Li Now that I am no longer involved in the discussion of Gamergate, I feel as though I can finally come clean about my true motivations for joining the discussion in the first place. I have often been asked the question about my initial draw to GG, and games in general, and while I have always answered truthfully, it was an incomplete truth. This will be my final time mentioning Gamergate in any fashion I was very sick when I was a teenager, originally diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue and Immune Dysfunction Syndrome (CFIDS), Fibromyalgia, and Anemia. I later learned that I have Lupus. That did not, however, change the fact that using the medication that was prescribed almost killed me. That I was homeschooled throughout most of highschool due to my inability to function. That I found solace and true friendship, through gaming. That those friendships most likely saved my life Fo and Get eve While I'm fairly certain those experiences alone would have propelled me into discussion of Gamergate, there is a very big factor that I have omitted until recently, and which was my true primary motivation ver nter In August of 2014, a friend on Twitter drew my attention to several articles that had been posted, later dubbed the "Gamers are Dead" articles. The first I read was by Gamasutra writer Leigh Alexander. In this article, Ms. Alexander described "gamers" in the following way: They don't know how to dress or behave. Games culture' is a petri dish of people who know so little about how human social interaction and professional life works that they can concoct online wars' about social justice or She used an entire article to demonize a certain, and very specific, type of person. A young man, who isn't socially tuned into her idea of 'acceptable' social behavior. Who doesnt know the right way to behave, or engage, or dress, or shop, or live. Who cares about things she does not Leigh Alexander was describing a male version of my 3 year old daughter. My little girl was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Global Developmental Delay days after her second birthday. We were blessed enough to receive an iPad grant through a local foundation which opened up a huge world to her. She began using PECS (picture communication) to request time with her iPad. She then began using it to request other things. Her first word was "iPad," and she had an inexplicable fascination with Fruit Ninja. I had always been the sort of parent to limit television and electronics to certain times and amounts. That all went out the window with her Went out the window because the only reason I ever heard my baby girl's voice was because of a game At the age of 3, she can now identify every letter in the alphabet out of order, upper and lowercase She can count to 30, and backwards from 20, without a single error. She can spell words. She can identify every color and shape. Yet, she can not say "no" if she doesn't want something. She can not express when she DOES want something. She can not socialize with other children, or with adults. She will fall into a sensory meltdown and can not tell us how to help ease her struggles She does not know the 'right' way to behave, or engage, or dress. She is the person Leigh Alexander described with blatant and unapologetic contempt I discussed Gamergate because I cared about ethics. I discussed Gamergate because I cared about censorship. I discussed Gamergate because I cared about ideological manipulation. But, I started discussing Gamergate because I'm a mother. A mother who's child was being misunderstood. A mother who's child was being attacked. A mother who saw a woman -a privileged, spoiled woman talking about things she's never lived and could never understand. A mother who watched this woman vilify all of the things I love most about my child - her ability to focus, to understand, to slow down, and most importantly, to be, and love, herself. And that p----- me off My motivation, my first, primary motivation, for joining the discussion was selfish. And I don't apologize or that We are all people. We all have our own motivations. We are all human beings, with feelings. And we all deserve to be treated with some goddamn dignity

On Pointless E-Drama So we sold about 27 posters. Which in one case is really cool but in a more accurate case, did not cover the cost of creating the posters, printing them and purchasing the Shopify account. All in all we made exactly $50 bucks, which we are using to purchase a framed poster of Lizzy as Zelda to ship to her. We are going to write an email to her so we can get her physical address, something that we find vaguely ironic, as her reason for leaving GamerGate was that information was placed online. We will be still selling posters for the next weeks so feel free to purchase them at And the funds will go into the scholarship fund for next year. When we started the women in game design project what we really wanted to do was two things. 1.) Get women more involved in game design. 2.) Show that the gaming community wanted to support them. Everyone feels that we have accomplished that goal But Matt literally wanted to work on the project with the goal that he just handles the money, and the planning and not have to deal with the public. So far he's had not one, not two, but three writers from top online publications call him a scam artist, he got death threats, and multiple people from an Online Anti-Harassment Task force have openly attacked him. We hate each other with the same near-fanatical passions. The only difference is the ideologies which drive us In terms of R the SJWs trump us. We're in possession of a number of internet image boards, some of which we've lost thanks to Moot and the like turning traitor or trying to remain impartial. The SJWs make their homes on and know how to use a number of high traffic sites, most of which are visited by normalfags they're able to persuade to their cause. On top of this they also have Gawker and the like, and continue to gain more blogs and such with every passing day, sometimes even gaining positive publicity in mainstream media. On top of this they're also deeply entrenched within academia, with gender studies classes churning out more and more goyim for them to use as cannon fodder. In order to win a war when the enemy's chance of victory far outnumbers your own, you must decide whether to attack the enemy's W or R. We lack our own R and so cannot possibly stand up to the enemy's. This leaves us W. We need to attack the enemy's will to fight Let's look at some examples from history where armies with inferior R have managed win by crushing the enemy's W Vietnam - By harassing the US and refusing to engage in open conflict, the Vietcong were able to wear down the US's will to fight, to the point where US citizens turned against their government, and the US was forced to withdraw. This knuckle down approach is what GG has mostly been relying on until now. Sure, theyve gone after a few high priority targets (Gawker) and met with mixed success, but really all those battles did was increase the enemy's W while draining their own R by wasting time Now, what has actually made a difference and caused SJWs to lay down their arms? Attacking them when theyre cut off. hit and runs. By doing this, Fish was removed from the equation, costing the enemy a key figurehead. His plan was to harass the north as close to home as possible, to crush the Platomic forces so that the North would simply decide the South wasn't worth the cost and let them go. Obviously the South lost, but this was because of Stuart's failure to follow Lee's orders. Had Stuart met with Lee instead of wasting 4 days stealing wagons and marching them, Lee would have made it passed Gettysburg, avoiding any conflict there, and had 4 extra battalions of cavalry at his disposal. From there, he would have had the high ground and been able to crush the Platomic. Had he done this, the North's spirit would have yielded, their W would be reduced to 0. Lincoln would have lost the election. And even with their superior forces, they still would have lost: V- WXR. If W is 0. R doesn't matter To conclude, we need to focus on attacking the enemy's will.
