I gave him a heartfelt apology and told him why l reacted the way I did because he asked me to apologize and he just goes "don't believe you" and feels that my subsequent reaction to this is evidence enough. I am disappointed by this turn of events. There is no valid reason I should step away from the article. There are dozens of editors who have come to Wikipedia for the sole reason of rewriting the article to favor their fringe movement and they remain untouchable or undeterred because they have no real dog to lose if they get banned. But just because one writer is upset with the paraphrased criticism I wrote about weeks ago that has been rewritten already and that the various editors below acknowledge wasn't entirely incorrect means I have to step down? I have no agenda with this page. I have no personal conflict with Mr. Auerbach other than my disgust with how all this has panned out. This has somehow given the people who want to silence me for opposing their opinion are using it as an excuse to have me topic banned when there have been much more egregious violations of BLP that they have performed but remain untouched. Art stirs emotions, it riles the spirit and at times it can unseat the deepest of rooted sentiments, unveiling and revealing elements of the self that lay hidden even from ourseves. To defend Video Games as art necessitates that people argue for and defend both the basest as well as the beautiful angels and demons of our nature. To want video games to be art means to accept the venal and the debauched aside the sublime and the transcendent, because art of all kinds is a bisection of the human soul, a cutting through the layers to show the light and dark rippled center of our beings.
