Texas' capital city, Austin, TX, quickly seceded from the now-former State of Texas, choosing to remain with the US. In retaliation, Texan militia forces blocked the Austin's railway, road and waterway access to the United States. Their aim was to force the Austin to capitulate and rejoin the secessionists.
