Planned & Scrapped Ideas for the Pokémon Horizons Anime [CONTAINS POTENTIAL SPOILERS]

While the Rising Voltacklers were always planned to be a focus in Horizons, their earlier name were Legends and the group would change depending on which region is being visited. A plot dump episode, dubbed "Episode Zero", which would have depicted the events of Rakua and Lucius' story was planned after GameFreak gave their notes for Horizons' first 12 episodes. For some reason, Dai Soto scrapped this episode without a reason given. Initially, Liko's goal was to attend school to gradually develop as a Pokemon Trainer, and enter the Pokemon League so she can one day meet a strong female Pokemon trainer that she admires. Unlike Ash, Liko has no interest in actually winning the competition. Past characters and old villains would also gradually be introduced, again depending on which region the story was set in. Originally, Lucius was known as the Legendary strongest trainer as opposed to an adventurer. Liko and Roy are one year apart in regards to age. Liko is 13 years old and Roy is 12. Initially, only Friede, Orio, Mollie, and Murdock were planned. Mollie was planned to be a regular Nurse Joy, and another now scrapped "navigator" type character. Orio was planned to be the anime's first canonically gay character. Murdock was planned to have a Pawniard and Combee. Friede is in his 20s, Orio is 18, Mollie is 25, and Murdock is 40. Captain Pikachu was originally called Master Pikachu. Dai Soto and Saori Den weren't familiar with the plot of SV, so when writing the story of HZ, GameFreak had to regularly consult them as reminders on the plot and characters. Several story changes in Horizons were due to this. There were initially no plans to cover Kitakami or Ogerpon's plot Raihan was supposed to appear during the Galar arc The original lineup for the Hero Pokemon were Rayquaza, Entei, Hatterne, and Lapras. The other three were to be decided, with one specifically being a Gen 9 Pokemon. Lapras was supposed to be caught in Galar. Fuecoco's singing was meant to be used as a plot device to discover more secrets in regards to Lucius and Rakua Quaxly wasn't initially going to be on the ship, but instead a wandering Pokemon in the Paldea region that would join the group and later be caught by either Liko or Roy. Anne's partner Pokemon was going to be a Cyndaquil The big Leafage that occurs several times in Horizons, notably in the 2nd episode of the series, was supposed to be a result of Sprigatito and Liko being powered up by Terapagos' powers. Ludlow was originally planned to be the temporary owner of Quaxly, living on Roy's island. He doesn't serve a role besides introducing Quaxly who sneaks onto the ship. Since Liko is older than Roy, their relationship is to be portrayed like that of older sister watching over her younger brother. Saori Den scrapped the "Friede betraying the group" but they are still planning to implement a story development where Friede becomes an enemy to Liko and Roy. Whenever he does, you will be able to tell by his hair being messier. Refer to the setting sheet. Pokemon Horizons takes place in the same universe as Pokemon Journeys, with the story beginning several months after the end of the PWC Terapagos was originally going to be from Table Mountain, which itself was supposed to be a broken off part of Rakua. The staff are attempting to create a "surprise Pokemon" that becomes popular with fans similar to Meowth and Wobbufet Brock and Iris are/were planned to appear in Horizons The Brave Asagi was supposed to be a flying Pokemon Lab The Hero Pokemon were originally going to be a group of 18 Pokemon, one of each type, that the group would encounter throughout the Pokemon world. This was later changed to only 9 Pokemon. Liko's pendant and Terapagos were initially supposed to be an anime original Pokemon from a unique egg that only Liko has. It was two stages, with the first being a small and cute Pokemon with a cloak-like part of its body that it cant properly control. When it evolves, it resembles an archangel. Miraidon and Koraidon aren't currently planned to be depicted in the story Instead of Ancient Pokeballs, Hisuian Pokeballs were planned to be used Liko's pendant was called the "Jewel of Lucius". Roy was also planned to know of Lucius' existence, based off of a legend his grandfather told him. Rakua was originally an island paradise, but was changed as its background details conflicted with Gen 10's region. It was changed to the edge of a peninsula, resembling the Dragon Palace and located underwater. GameFreak were concerned it may be too similar to the Terarium at Blueberry Academy, but they were able to fix that. Rayquaza and White Zygarde were the guardians of Rakua, but after an incident with Zygarde, Rakua was left in ruins and sank to the bottom of the ocean. They are meant to symbolize Yin and Yang as a callback to Reshiram and Zekrom. Horizons was scheduled to debut on November 18th, 2022 Two year timeskip planned with the intention of portraying a slightly more mature tone for the anime Gibeon was planned to have romantic feelings for Lucius, and there would be a love triangle between Gibeon, Lucius, and Lucius' wife. The Hero Pokemon were designed after the Tapus from Sun & Moon as well as the Noble Pokemon from Legends Arceus As the story progresses, Roy will gradually move out the spotlight, as the story will be hyper focused on Liko and Lucius. The story started out initially as double protagonist tale, but Liko's story will be put on the forefront. Friede's brother was going to be a member of the Explorers HORIZONS THE SERIES Dai Soto purposefully made it so Liko and Sprigatito don't have a "big first meeting" similar to Ash and Pikachu, as they rather their bond being shown gradually throughout the series.

Centro LEAKS @CentroLeaks Scrapped Pokémon Z details finally revealed Follow Zygarde was originally going to have two Complete forms. Forme X and Forme Y. Forme X was going to be based on a large wolf that hunts Xerneas as its prey. Forme Y was going to use anti-aircraft like weaponry to hunt Yveltal. Both forms were repurposed into 10% and 100% Zygarde. Pokémon Z would feature Zygarde and these new forms, along with Zygarde on the box art. The Zygarde-like rock found in Sina and Dexio's research lab is called the Z-Stone. There were two cut plots for Zygarde, one for Pokémon Z and the other for Pokemon Sun & Moon. Pokémon Sun & Moon ◆ Communication from Dexio A message has come in from Dexio. There is a Beast in the End Cave. Zygarde has arrived, having judged that the Beast is a threat to the ecosystem. You are told to go to the End Cave with Zygarde (Complete Form). ◆ Zygarde vs. Beast The Beast is discovered in the deepest part of the End Cave. Dexio's explanation: Zygarde came to Alola to defeat the Beast. Zygarde is eager to fight. The Poké Ball containing Zygarde is shaking. You send out Zygarde. ◆Removing the Poké Deco Sina removes the Poké Deco. Since the newly synthesized Zygarde now considers the player as its trainer, Sina removes her mark.

If there is a game where Flying Eevee is the main character, or if there is high value in the game, then it is not worth the high cost.
