Madlad takes over conference room and now is a boss | /r/madlads

Tired of having no windows at my warehouse desk I just moved my stuff into a nice comfortable conference room. Everyone just thinks I've been promoted. (self.antiwork) submitted 9 hours ago by SurpassingAllKings 2 2 e6 Not quite the quitting level of resistance like most stuff here but I've been pretty tapped out at my job and got pretty bummed out at having no windows. No sunlight f---- your brain up. Being one of the "essential" staff I've been one of the few people here every day. With no in person meetings I decided to clear out all the extra chairs and tables in one of the conference rooms and just moved in. The view looks down onto a largely overgrow railroad line. It's nice, I see a lot of cool birds all day. Now that everyone's back managers keep talking to me like I've been promoted. Instead of just throwing work at me they knock on my door and ask if I'm busy. Sometimes I'll close my door and say I'm in a meeting and read for an hour or so.

An E3 from a different platoon (jav) walked out of his platoon , walked right into Heavy Guns and offered the said Ssgt a hug, everyone in the company was just stunned and did the Lance with balls of steel stop there? Hell no He walked over to our prior drill instructor first sergeant and offered him a hug too, thankfully the first sergeant is cool as s---, chuckled and gave the E3 a bear hug. S--- was unreal to say the least.

A Lance cpl was having dinner sitting next to the Sgt Maj, everyone was talking about football of course, it plays every year. The Lance cpl said the "Cowboys f------ suck" out loud and the Sgt Maj looked shocked at first and said "that's the General Conways favorite team, no balls you say it to him". The Lance cpl walked over and said excuse me to the General (I swear you could hear a pin drop) and said sir I just wanted to tell you the cowboys f------ suck. The room literally went dead quit until the General started laughing and said kid you got some balls on you. It was as pretty funny after the fact.

Lost dog found on Chamberlin rd, no collar, and seems to be a bit aggressive. Also doesn't like baths but she was pretty dirty. Took most of the night, but she's resting comfy now on the bed.

throwawaycatswap Six years ago I switched my wife's cat with a more well-behaved lookalike. Six years ago, i swapped my then-girlfriend now-wife's cat with a more well-behaved lookalike. She had an all black cat that was extremely aggressive. It scratched everyone, hissed at everyone, and didn't use its litterbox half the time. My wife insisted she could get it to behave better. One week she went out of town to visit her family and I was supposed to go to her apartment and feed it. The first nightI went over, it scratched the s--- out of my arm. I joked to the cat that it's not special and I'Il replace it if it scratches again. The joke stuck with me until I had thought about it enough that it wasn't a joke. The next morning I went to the local animal shelter. Found an identical cat who was already litterbox trained and acclimated to people, but was a little skiddish (it's old owner died of a heart attack and the animal shelter people said they think that's why it was skiddish). But overall, it was a lot friendlier and better behaved, and the skiddishness would help it resemble the original cat. So l adopted it, took it to my wife's apartment, settled it in, then drove her original cat to an animal shelter a town over (I was paranoid my wife would find out if I took it to a local one). It's been 6 years since then. We got married 4 years ago. We still have the swapped cat. It answers to the original cat's name. My wife knows nothing. She loves this cat and brags about how much better behaved it is. Everytime I see it, I feel like a total p------------.
