Dreamtime

The Aboriginal <a href="https://www.aboriginal-art-australia.com/aboriginal-art-library/aboriginal-dreamtime/">Dreamtime</a>, or The Dreaming, is a rather hard thing to explain. So much that you're getting <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dreaming">two links</a> for this one to try and help out.

Essentially, it is the beginning of everything, where all life was created and all knowledge was taught. However, it never ended; essentially meaning that the beginning lasts forever and never ends. Hence why it's sometime referred to as the Everywhen.

In the lore, all living things were either the ancestors themselves, or were made by the ancestors. That is, a river may be an ancestor and may also be a creation snake.

The Dreaming explains how things came to be – why a rock is in a certain place or a particular shape, why the echidna has spikes, why the moon returns full every month, how kangaroos got their tails.

The Dreaming also commands the rules and ways of being in Aboriginal culture.

The individual exists in the Dreamtime before they are born, becoming the guardians of the land of where they are born and then returning to their place in the Dreaming upon death.

It does not matter if the person was good or evil in life in terms of what happens to them in the afterlife. There is no Heaven, nor Hell. Only The Dreaming.

Garkain

"Hang on Soup, this isn't a Monster Girl!"

Well...er, let me explain what a <a href="https://abookofcreatures.com/2020/06/26/garkain/ ">Garkain</a> is and the reason for this might become more apparent.

A Garkain is a humanoid monster said to inhabit the rainforests of Arnhem Land. It is said to posses massive slaps of skin, similar to wings, and spends the day asleep under piles of leaves.

At night, it climbs up into the trees and looks for people to hunt.

Once it has located it's prey, it then pounces upon them, wrapping them up in it's folds and suffocating them with it's foul stench before devouring their flesh raw; leaving the spirit of its victims to wander the jungles forever in search of a resting place.

Yeah, you'd think one of the fetish guys would have picked this up; but there's apparently no smut available that I can repurpose for educational use.

Or is he simply just renting it?

Here is the final version that he made, although it looks a bit more sterile and loses that texture that brought in that layer of uncofmrotable-ness. Or maybe the sterile look gives it a different unsettling feel. You can decide.

Here comes the mirror man.

This was made today, all in all, wich is unusuall because usually I fiddle around with details every now and again for weeks before I'm done with something. This, I just sketched it up and it turned out like this. It doesn't look like my original idea, but I kind of fell in love with it. Some drawings just seem to become your friends, in difference to those that just seem to never cooperate with you.
My original idea was a person standing in front of a mirror, defending himself against his mirror image. This was because I thought about how many people today seem to be busy struggling with their self image all the time. Instead here, it looks more like he is comforting his mirror image, or feeling sorry for it while it seems to be in some kind of distress. Wich, in a way, still works.

(My english skills seem to have flown out the window and it's surpisingly difficult to write anything now, but I hope it's comprehensible.)
