Don't take too long to respond - In this era of online Interviews we know that a good number of candidates cheat in various ways, one being, having someone with them to help with the answers. If you take too long to respond even if you are right, it makes the interviewer suspicious, so avoid it. Occasionally pausing for few seconds, sometimes is fine, but ensure you don't do this for the majority of the time. 2. Look directly in the camera: I had a habit of looking up or down while thinking and answering during interviews, if you also have similar habit, change it. Look directly in the camera. You might just be thinking by looking to your left or down or up, but it might make the interviewer suspicious that you are looking at some other screen or notes, so avoid that as well. Again, occasionally looking here and there for few seconds is fine, don't do it for longer periods of time. 10](https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/masonry/002/930/868/116.png)

While I understand salary is important, leading with that question can actually do more harm than good in a job search. Here's why: It puts the focus on the wrong priority - Salary is just one part of the package. Company culture, growth potential, work-life balance, and the role's impact can matter just as much— sometimes more! By asking about salary first, you risk overlooking crucial aspects that could make the role a perfect long-term fit. It can come across as transactional - When recruiters or hiring managers feel the first priority is financial, it can make the conversation feel more like a negotiation rather than a genuine discussion about career growth. First impressions matter, and being curious about the full scope of the role helps establish a more professional tone.
