On the other hand, however people want the illusion of an experience. Thinking Battlefield games are authentic and historic makes yourself look more cultured, after all. Saying you like Battlefield because of it's historic portrayal of old wars sounds so much better than "I just want to smash jeeps full of C4 into tanks". So this is the illusion these games try to sell on a surface level. But it's neither the actual soul nor meat of the game. It is these trailers that keep this illusion alive, as the illusion pretty much doesn't exist anymore once you play online. But the continued use of that marketing still makes you think it is serious and authentic, even though it isn't A compa wants to feel young again... honest. But it would enrage their customers. Because it's not the illusion of an experience they want to be sold Because of this illusion, you HAVE to make your reveal trailer appeal to the core audience, and their expectations of this experience.
