Scrimmybinguscat 10h 1e Lich immediately casts Erase on the Wizard's spellbook, then casts Caligarde's Claw to slash up the party, Beltyn's Burning Blood which makes them all start bleeding corrosive acid, then Grimwald's Greymantle to make them unable to be healed, after which the Lich teleports away with Gemjump to Gods know where, but not after Summoning a Glabrezu with the Cacodemon spell to finish them off. 3.5e Lich just casts some sort of Instant Silent Disjunction spell on the party before triggering their contingency pre-prepared 44th Level Abomination of a spell that causes a massive explosion of living hellfire that freezes everything touches and burns them at the same time, and deals 60D6 damage across three damage types to everything in a 12-mile radius, and reaches into the ethereal plane, and sends everyone flying for many miles dealing an extra D6 of bludgeoning for every 10 feet each victim is thrown for thousands of extra points of damage. And also everyone that is killed turns into wights too for good measure. And it happens in the past and acts retroactively so the Lich is also casting it from the future where they are safe. Can any Good Reader cite a single classical or medieval mention of even one Female dwarf? Can they locate one mention of a female dwarf in any meritorious work of heroic fantasy (save AD&D, naturally)? I think not! The answer is so simple, so obvious, that the truth has been long overlooked. Knowing the intelligence of AD&D players, there can be no doubt that all will instantly grasp the revealed truth, once it is presented, and extol its virtue. Female dwarves are neglected not because of male chauvinism or any slight. Observers failed to mention them because they failed to recognize them when they saw them. How so? Because the bearded female dwarves were mistaken for younger males, obviously! It is well known that dwarves are egalitarian. They do not discriminate against their womenfolk or regard them as lesser creatures, and this is undeniable. Furthermore, dwarves do not relegate females to minor roles. There can be no doubt that during any important activity or function, female dwarves were present. An untrained eye would easily mistake the heavily garbed, armored, shortbearded females for adolescent males. So happened the dearth of information pertaining to the fairer sex of dwarvenkind. Now, do female dwarves have beards? Certainly! And male dwarves are darn glad of it, for they do love to run their fingers through the long, soft growth of a comely dwarven lass. # P 21/100 000

SurlyCricket 2h One of my favorite thing to do with Liches is to have them cast spells from previous editions, or have their spells work like they were from 1e/2e. Lich has improved invis and stoneskin and mirror image up.. "Hey DM, what about concentration???" lol "Hey, why is he taking no damage at all when we hit him... he's only supposed to take half damage!" lol "WHY ARE THERE 8 MIRROR IMAGES" lol muhabeti 2h This is genius. Liches so old they're from previous editions. That said, I also hope you started the encounter with Time Stop. 5
