Poor Luigi
![Supper Mario Broth @MarioBrothBlog In Paper Mario, if glitches are used to bring Bow, Watt, Sushie or Lakilester to meet Luigi in the first chapters of the game, then upon meeting Luigi, they will repeat his line "I wonder what my brother Mario is doing right now..." back to him, appearing to mock him. I wonder what my brother Mario is doing right now... I wonder what my brother Mario is doing right now... Oh? And who are you? I see. Great, just great. € In Paper Mario, if Mario visits Luigi for the first time while the game is in a pre-Chapter 3 state, Luigi will react to Mario's partner. The partners Mario can legitimately have at that point are Goombario, Kooper, Bombette and Parakarry, who each have their own lines upon meeting Luigi. However, using sequence breaks to meet Luigi with Bow, Watt, Sushie or Lakilester reveals that instead of having their own lines, they simply repeat Luigi's line "I wonder what my brother Mario is doing right now...", appearing to mock him. ce Supper Mario Broth, screenshots taken in a N64 emulator, game. Paper Mario
Germany made the reference more obvious
![Supper Mario Broth @Mario BrothBlog The Koopa Bros. from Paper Mario are a clear reference to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, however, in most versions it is limited to their visual design. The German version takes it further and gives them names that parody the TMNT: Citronello, Melanzano, Pomodoro and Asparago. Most people who played Paper Mario would be able to recognize the bosses of Chapter 1, the Koopa Bros., as parodies of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from the multimedia franchise of the same name, being a group of four color-coded ninja turtles. However, in most languages, the references stop at the visual design. Unlike the TMNT, who each have individual names inspired by Italian Renaissance artists, the Koopa Bros. are simply named "Red Ninjakoopa", "Yellow Ninjakoopa" etc. The German localization takes the reference a step further and gives each of them a name that is an Italian word for a food of a similar color, parodying the Italian names of the TMNT. Citronello (from citronella, Italian for lemongrass) Tource:marioviki.comikoopa_Bros.
