Status effects
![Supper Mario Broth @MarioBrothBlog During normal gameplay, enemies in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door will at most have a few status effects at a time. Your partners are shorter when you switch them in
![Supper Mario Broth @Mario BrothBlog In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, all partners shrink by 8% of their height whenever Mario swaps them in. The only way to see the true height of a partner is to enter a room with that partner already out, or during cutscenes. Details in image. In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, whenever Mario swaps out his partner, the newly swapped-in partners shrink by 8% of their height as long as Mario remains in that room. The only way to see a partner at full 100% height is to enter a room with that partner already out, or during cutscenes. Below, Koops is used to demonstrate the effect as he is both relatively tall, making the 8% difference easier to see, and does not float like Vivian and Flurrie, which makes comparison difficult. The same effect applies equally to all partners. Here, Petalburg was entered with Koops already out, and Koops was positioned between his girlfriend Koopie Koo and Mario for easier height comparison. This is Koops's intended, "canon" height that he also has during cutscenes. Here, Petalburg was entered with Goombella out, and Koops was swapped in. Every character is positioned in the same location and is on the same animation frame. Note how Koops is now visibly shorter compared to the other two characters. Here, both screenshots are overlaid on top of each other, so that it is clear that while both Mario and Koopie Koo have remained the same height, Koops has shrunk. ce Supper Maio Broth, poreenshots takes in a GC emulator game Paper Mario The Thousand Yew Door (NA,GC)](https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/masonry/002/371/230/18a.png)
