The only way to see the true height of a partner is to enter a room with that partner already out, or during cutscenes. Details in image. In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, whenever Mario swaps out his partner, the newly swapped-in partners shrink by 8% of their height as long as Mario remains in that room. The only way to see a partner at full 100% height is to enter a room with that partner already out, or during cutscenes. Below, Koops is used to demonstrate the effect as he is both relatively tall, making the 8% difference easier to see, and does not float like Vivian and Flurrie, which makes comparison difficult. The same effect applies equally to all partners. Here, Petalburg was entered with Koops already out, and Koops was positioned between his girlfriend Koopie Koo and Mario for easier height comparison. This is Koops's intended, "canon" height that he also has during cutscenes. Here, Petalburg was entered with Goombella out, and Koops was swapped in. Every character is positioned in the same location and is on the same animation frame. Note how Koops is now visibly shorter compared to the other two characters. A developer oversight in Paper Mario: Color Splash can result in Mario being locked into a battle that he can only escape from by using up all his cards, which in the worst-case scenario takes up to 99 turns of watching Mario shrug as his attack misses.

HP 97/125 Ox8014 Place Cards Here MAX 350 Eekhammer HP 97/125 Ox8014 Sort A random event that can happen occasionally during regular enemy battles in Paper Mario: Color Splash is Kamek messing with Mario's Battle Cards. One of the ways he can do it is by turning every card into an Eekhammer (a weak hammer attack) until the battle ends. Unfortunately, a Kamek event also disables the Flee command, forcing Mario to fight until he either wins, dies, or runs out of cards, and the Battle Spin, which lets Mario obtain new cards mid-battle. As such, Mario is forced to use the hammers. However, if his only enemy is airborne. The attack didn't reach its target! .then Mario simply cannot hurt the enemy in any way whatsoever as the hammer attack does not reach it. As Mario can not obtain new cards that would let him hurt the enemy, and he cannot flee until he runs out of cards, the player's only options are to a) let Mario die by having the enemy slowły whittle away his health, or, should the player be interested in actually winning, b) use up every single card Mario had at the start of the battle to unlock the Flee command. As Mario can carry up to 99 Battle Cards, in the worst-case scenario, the player is forced to sit through 99 turns of using an Eekhammer and seeing the above scene of Mario shrugging as the attack fails before being able to flee, ending the encounter. Supper Mario Broth @MarioBrothBlog The creators of the North American print ad for Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door were given a version of the game's map that contained spoilers. However, by cleverly rotating, cropping, and placing Mario in front of it, they were able to hide most of the spoiler locations. In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, the plot revolves around Mario following the Magical Map, which starts off showing relatively few locations (starting state seen above). the finished map before playing through the game woukld spol many of the locations. For an unknown reason, the creators of the North American print ad for the game were only given the finished version of the map, containing spolers. However, by strategically rotating cropping out, and hiding parts of the map behind Mario, they were able to hide the majority of the spoiler locations from view. Note how areas marked with 1,3 and 7 are completely cropped out, while 2 is mostly cropped out and 5 is hidden behind Mario. The only ones not obscured are 4 and 6, which is impressive given how most of the map is still visible. Foreshadowing that Bobbery has been to Fahr Outpost before

Supper Mario Broth @MarioBrothBlog Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door contains an extremely difficult-to-catch piece of foreshadowing that requires a player to go out of the way to visit an area ahead of time and look for a discrepancy in partner comments that reveals that one of them knows more than the others. In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, during the regular course of the plot, Fahr Outpost is only visited after it is shown on the Magical Map. However, by going out of the way to not progress the plot, it is possible to obtain the Ultra Hammer and unlock the pipe to Fahr Outpost ahead of time, leading to it being visited before the party knows anything about that location. This prompts special dialogue from all partners. Nearly all of them simply wonder where they have ended up after taking the pipe: Where the heck are we, the polar ice cap? I wonder where this village is located, anyway? where on earth could this outpost be? where is this place, anyway? Where do you think this I wonder where this place is. place is? However, Bobbery's reaction is special. Instead of wondering where they are, he merely makes an offhand comment about the weather. This is actually foreshadowing for a later plot point where it turns out that Bobbery is the only one of the party who has been to Fahr Outpost before: Almost freezes one's Old boy, I KNOW I saw a cannon the last time I was here, so do not lie, sir! mustache, eh, old boy? What makes this foreshadowing notable is that 1. the player must go out of the way to see it, as during the regular plot, Bobbery makes no mention of having been to Fahr Outpost, and 2. Bobbery's comment about the weather is by itself completely innocuous until put into context by the other partners' comments; the player can only pick up on the discrepancy by playing through this scenario several times with different partners. roe tvitet comurer vn

For example, each Shy Guy color has its own "blank" version saved as a separate image file despite being identical to each other, with none of them even ending up being used.
