You can bully Mr. L
![Supper Mario Broth @Mario BrothBlog In Super Paper Mario, it is possible to "bully" Mr. L by stealing his drinks. When his health is low, Mr. L attempts to restore it with a Shroom Shake. By using Thoreau, Mario can grab the Shroom Shake out of Mr. L's hands and add it to his own inventory. re: Supper Mario Broth, screenshots taken in a Vi emulator, game: Super Paper Mario (NA, Vi) J 1970 (](https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/masonry/002/553/779/383.png)

Paper Mario
Germany made the reference more obvious
![Supper Mario Broth @Mario BrothBlog The Koopa Bros. from Paper Mario are a clear reference to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, however, in most versions it is limited to their visual design. The German version takes it further and gives them names that parody the TMNT: Citronello, Melanzano, Pomodoro and Asparago. Most people who played Paper Mario would be able to recognize the bosses of Chapter 1, the Koopa Bros., as parodies of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from the multimedia franchise of the same name, being a group of four color-coded ninja turtles. However, in most languages, the references stop at the visual design. Unlike the TMNT, who each have individual names inspired by Italian Renaissance artists, the Koopa Bros. are simply named "Red Ninjakoopa", "Yellow Ninjakoopa" etc. The German localization takes the reference a step further and gives each of them a name that is an Italian word for a food of a similar color, parodying the Italian names of the TMNT. Citronello (from citronella, Italian for lemongrass) Tource:marioviki.comikoopa_Bros. Melanzano (from melanzana, Italian for eggplant) The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Michelangelo, Leonardo, Donatello and Raphael Pomodoro Asparago (Italian for asparagus) : (Italian for tomato)](https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/masonry/002/548/652/bce.png)

In Paper Mario, there is a blue Toad at the Toad Town train station who tells Mario that he wants to tell him something after Bowser is defeated and peace returns to the Mushroom Kingdom.
