Apple's newly unveiled iPad Air from the livestream showcase.

Earlier today, Apple held a livestream event to show off its new and upcoming technology, as they do around this time every year. The newest big tech innovation of last year from the company was the M1 chipset, which was going to be used in the exuberantly priced Macbook Pros, with all other models of devices getting weaker internals. That all changed with the announcement of the iPad Air today, which is supposed to be similar to a normal iPad, but smaller, lighter and somehow still more powerful since they will feature the M1 super-chip that Apple is staking its empire on.

Immediately after the announcement, people took to Twitter, as they always do following Apple's showcases, and began posting memes and other positive things to say about the M1 chip and upcoming iPad Air.

Not everyone was thrilled, however, as the issue about price came up (as well as how other Apple products seemed to be doomed to obsolescence) and a sense that just waiting for the next year's models is almost always the better move with Apple tech.

At the same time, reports of Spotify being down, as well as various other websites and services, helped with a push towards Apple Music, which is also reportedly seeing some future updates happening. Also, fans of the game Genshin Impact couldn't help but laugh at the elemental neutrality shown in the character chosen to fight the boss during the gameplay demo that was done on the stream.
