Disney's 'Chip 'n Dale' Trailer Confirms Leaked 4Chan Plot Summary

Disney unveiled the new trailer for its upcoming Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers movie, which seems to confirm a 4chan leak from months prior.

The Chip 'n Dale movie is a continuation of the Roger Rabbit state of affairs, with toons and people existing in a shared reality and showing what happens with toons after their shows are canceled. A string of toon disappearances reignites the passion for mystery-solving in the two estranged brothers, who then go out and try to crack the case.

There's been some blowback over Peter Pan's "Old and Washed Up" look for the new Rescue Rangers film, due to the death of Peter Pan's first actor, Bobby Driscoll

While the washed-up and older Peter Pan was the topic of much discussion, that discussion intensified after the character was revealed to be named Mean Dean in the subtitles, as this was a character explicitly mentioned as part of a 4chan story leak in late February.

According to the leak, the toon behind all the disappearances is Pluto, and near the end of the final act, his ear gets swapped with Chip's, which can be verified by a shot in the trailer showing Chip with Pluto's ear on him. This caused some fans to lose faith in the movie and start to post memes and hot takes about it.
