About

Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers is an animated television series produced by the Walt Disney Company from 1988 to 1990 and starring the long-established cartoon chipmunks Chip and Dale in a new setting with likewise-new supporting characters. In the setting of the show, the eponymous characters run an animal detective agency accompanied by comrades Gadget Hackwrench, Monterey Jack and Zipper.

History

The series was initially conceived alongside both Darkwing Duck and TaleSpin as a follow-up to DuckTales, which was Walt Disney Television Animation's first major success.

The show itself consists of sixty-five episodes, and adheres to a formulaic structure typical of other children's cartoons of the 80s and early 90s.

Online Relevance

The show was among the first of its kind to develop a significant online fandom consisting of fan-fiction/art. A since-abandoned, archaically-formatted Wiki documenting the series with an emphasis on its fan following exists, and Encyclopedia Dramatica describes the series' fan base, labelled as "Rangerphiles", as "a web 1.0 version of a Sonic Fag or a Brony".

A majority of online fan-made content related to the series revolves around the character Gadget Hackwrench, frequently sexualizing her. At one point, a sub-group of fans labelled as "R.A.G.E. (Rangerphiles Against Gadget Erotica)" was established specifically to protest such content.
A literal cult devoted to the character also exists or existed in Russia.

Overall, the fandom for Rescue Rangers stands in web-history as an early subset of the larger Furry fandom.

If you want to know why this movie is so bad;

1. Been in development hell since 2014, Disney randomly give it to Andy Samberg and Lonely Island
2. First cut had Pluto as the villain, angry he was treated like a normal dog while Goofy was treated as a person, this version was despised by test audiences so they had to rework the film in the 11th hour, also resulting in the black cop lady getting most of her scenes cut, leaving the movie feeling very disjointed.
3. Peter Pan is the villain and is now old but none of the others having aged, even weirder when one of the Lost Boys appears and hasn't changed at all, never explained
4. '2D'animation looks like bad CGI, but weirdly the background 2D characters look fine, possibly as a result of the reworking
5. Monterey Jack and Gadget are only in a few scenes, it feels like the writers barely knew anything about the show and just skimmed a few Wiki articles.
6. The cliche group fell apart and are now sad, cynical has-beens story with worn out meta humor
7. Inappropriate cameos (a character from fucking Big Mouth appears)
8. Chip and Dale aren't brothers but were kids who met in the 80's despite being around since 1943
9. Gadget ends up with Zipper (who was the team pet) and they fuck hard, cucking Chip
10. Wastes the opportunity of a lifetime to have a massive crossover between Disney, WB, Dreamworks, and others.
11. Feels like a recycled script of an unmade Roger Rabbit sequel, since Dip shows up at one point

Ho my fucking god there's so many banger memes being made about this movie, I just uploaded a ton. This shit show is hysterical. Disney just turned millions of people's waifu into an insect brood mother and cucked the entire nation of Russia. This is better entertainment than the actual movie LMAO
