Early this morning, Elon Musk tweeted a "Baby Shark" parody tweet. By simply remixing the classic earworm "baby shark, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo" with Doge in its place, the tweet ignited a firestorm on Twitter as people speculated what this could mean.

The immediate replies were mixed in their support or decrying of Musk and cryptocurrency as a whole. Due to the recent crash of cryptocurrency value almost across the board, there were many who were skeptical of this tweet and actively posted things against Dogecoin, believing this to be a veiled attempt at boosting it or another coin like it.

Shortly after the Musk tweet, the actual crypto altcoin Baby Doge Coin, which has its one-month anniversary on July 1st, tweeted an image of the trending section of Twitter, with Baby Doge in the top spot. This post was quickly followed by additional tweets of different crypto markets officially listing Baby Doge Coin, making it available for sale on more platforms.

Another Twitter user expressed their frustration at the seemingly endless nature of cryptocurrency having a lot of different coins, lamenting that it's not Dogecoin that is going up in price now, but the new Baby Doge Coin instead.

A different take on the situation, some Twitter users (not motivated by greed or moonshots) simply are laughing at the insanity unfolding as they interpret Musk as trying to pump a new coin that people weren't even aware of.

While no one except Musk may know the true intent of the tweet โ€“ whether he meant to pump a coin celebrating its one-month anniversary or as a dad to a young baby that's heard the "Baby Shark" song so much he's trying to spice it up with a dad joke โ€“ one thing continues to be certain: crypto Twitter is still very active and closely following anything Musk tweets.
