All-too-often we see examples of humans bringing technology that only existed as problems in science fiction to life, but rarely do we see humans bringing actual supervillain technology to life.

That appears to be the case in a recent viral video of a man riding an airborne drone through Times Square.

Fans of Sam Raimi's Spider-man all had the same thought as the video spread through social media: that looks an awful lot like the Green Goblin.

Indeed, "Green Goblin" trended on Twitter as the video posted by @WUTangKids and reposted by Rex Chapman made the rounds.

While it's unclear who the man in the video was or what he was doing, Futurism has speculated it may be YouTuber Hunter Kowald, a daredevil whose channel is devoted to him pulling off stunts with a hoverboard. A similar video of a man riding an airborne hovercraft was posted to Twitter in April of 2021, and that man turned out to be Kowald.

Futurism also speculates the drone was made by Omni Hoverboards and costs over $20,000, though it is unavailable to the public at this point.
