A new update to Midjourney, the AI art generator that has won the hearts of many on social media, has users posting marvelous new creations all around the web, including Twitter where it's trending today under "#midjourneyv4."

The artificial intelligence works by taking a text prompt from a user and then creating a composite image of that prompt. Midjourney is notable for its ability to render not just objects but a specific style of art.

Volume 4 of Midjourney offers more detail and nuance than earlier versions that previously went viral this year, as shown in comparisons of what different versions the AI produces for various prompts.

As we've seen with many similar AI-art generators, such as DALL-E Mini, many users used Midjourney Volume 4 to post funny images or beautiful creations it came up with.

The new update can work not just from text prompts, but from image prompts as well. Feed the AI a photograph or picture, and it can now copy it or alter it in fresh and interesting ways, leading many to create more personalized artwork.

Volume 4 of Midjourney also offers a wider range of styles than past versions, as noted by several on Twitter over the last few days.

Artificial Intelligence may not replace human artists just yet, but Midjourney Volume 4 is definitely a "W" for team robot. If you're interested in checking out what all the fuss is about, it's still currently possible to join the Beta testing for Midjourney.
