As if there wasn't already enough stress in the air due to Oscar nominations happening today, the Doomsday Clock has moved 10 seconds ahead, making the world a total of 90 seconds away from nuclear annihilation.

The Doomsday Clock, a device used to signal how close humanity supposedly is to complete extermination, was moved as a response to the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine, with 90 seconds till the end of days making it the closest the clock has ever been in its history.

However, this time, the Doomsday Clock moving forward didn't appear to have as much of an impact online as it did in previous instances, with many people either being sarcastically apathetic to the entire thing or wondering what can even be done about the clock moving forward.

This has led to a lot of doomposting and generally not caring whether the world faces its nuclear death or not, with some even preferring that it does happen. Since the announcement earlier today, social media platforms have been inundated with memes and other humor referencing the development.

Since 2020, the Doomsday Clock has notably remained unchanged, holding firm at 100 seconds to midnight.
