Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill (Deal With God)" has earned its spot alongside Toto's "Africa" and A-ha's "Take On Me" as legendary '80s pop songs that are still referenced in memes today, and the track's recent appearance in season four of Stranger Things has the potential to bring it to even greater heights.

In the new season of Stranger Things, the character Max (played by Sadie Silk) enters into a psychological trance related to the show's villain, Vecna. In order to save her, her friends rummage through cassette tapes to find her favorite song that will snap her out of it. This, as it's established earlier on, is "Running Up That Hill" by Kate Bush, leading to this sequence (SPOILER WARNING):

The needle drop helped propel "Running Up That Hill" to the number one spot as the most-streamed song on iTunes and No. 13 on the global Spotify chart, while fans of the song both old and new expressed their appreciation for the quality of its inclusion.

Of course, some more-online viewers saw the visual of a girl levitating as she hears her favorite song as an instantly memeable template, and the edits started soon after the episode aired, particularly in the K-pop fandom.

This is hardly the first time Stranger Things has helped an old song go viral, as its third season caused a renaissance of the theme song from The Neverending Story, while Jim Hopper Dancing caused some memes during the show's second season.
