Some games actually did make the transition to weaker hardware like the GBA surprisingly well. The GBA Crash Bandicoot games were actually considered to be really good games that kept the spirit of the PS1 titles alive (some people even said they were better than Wrath of the Cortex by a decent amount), that LotR RPG (Third Age) was considered way better on GBA than on console due to the GBA game going for a very different style of gameplay people found to be more enjoyable, and while this is GBC and not GBA believe it or not the GBC version of Daikatana was actually considered to be a pretty good game (it only came out in Europe because the publisher figured the bad press from the other versions would mean it'd be dead on arrival here, but people who played it said that despite the name attached to it it was actually a really good game, being a Zelda clone that actually had decent level design and gameplay mechanics [and IIRC John Romero was the one who said to make it a Zelda clone due to Zelda being a big inspiration to him, which is why the main character of Daikatana has the last name "Miyamoto" as a tribute to Shigeru Miyamoto himself]).
