Fans of the video game series Five Nights at Freddy's are seeing the side profile silhouette of the character Edwin Murray everywhere they go, all because of a viral song called "Jackie's Box" that includes the now-famous verse, "My name is Edwin. I made the mimic."

When the song first dropped in December, people focused on a different verse called "My Name is David." Upon further inspection, Edwin's verse also apparently slapped, eventually generating its own memes on Twitter / X and TikTok.

So, where did this meme start? Who is Edwin Murray anyway? Let's explain.

What Is The 'My Name Is Edwin' Song?

The song that the "My Name is Edwin" meme comes from is called "Jackie's Box." It was created by YouTuber XTRATUNA in December 2024. It has a few alternate names like the "FNAF Mimic Song" or the "Secret Of The Mimic."

At the song's 57-second mark, the side profile of the character Edwin Murray is shown as his voice says, "My name is Edwin. I made the Mimic."

What Are The 'My Name Is Edwin' Lyrics?

The lyrics of the "My Name is Edwin" verse read:

My name is Edwin.
I made the Mimic.
It was difficult to put the pieces together.
But unfortunately, something went so wrong.
And now I can't do anything but sing this stupid song!
My name is Edwin, Edwin, Edwin, Edwin, Edwin…

Who Is Edwin Murry In 'Five Nights At Freddy's?'

Edwin Murray is a character in the FNaF universe. He appears in The Mimic, the third story in Tales from the Pizzaplex 6: Nexie, according to devoted Fandom users. He's the father of David, the kid singing the "My Name is David" verse.

In line with the lyrics, Edwin made the Mimic, an animatronic that later becomes a central antagonist in the FNaF world.

h2. What Is Up With Edwin's Side Profile Silhouette?

In the "Jackie's Box" video, YouTuber XTRATUNA uses the side profile of a man wearing a trenchcoat, glasses and a top hat to represent Edwin Murray. The image does not come from the FNaF universe and has confused many fans.

"I hope we never get an official Edwin design because I will forever see him as just this dude now," one X user joked. "Why is this the picture we use for Edwin Murray?" said a Redditor in a similar fashion.

What Is The 'My Name Is Edwin' Meme All About?

Both the "My Name is Edwin" and "My Name is David" memes are based on the idea that the "Jackie's Box" song is just not a good song. One could say that the verses sound out of place and the beat is jarring.

The "My Name is Edwin" verse specifically is funny because of the silhouette that is shown. He looks like Gru or Inspector Gadget and fans are seeing his iconic profile everywhere they look.
