Just identity politics. How do people think that's going to get people interested in content? I don't get it. I don't care what a writer is. I care if they can write well. And I certainly don't care about the rest either, I don't care if 50% of the staff is women or you've got diversity. Good for you, what's that have to do with the show? How does that improve the show? If you claim it does, all I have to say is that the writing room is 100% women so you kind of disprove that claim by not having the same "winning" diversity in the writers room Fuera de Línea Almost like it makes no difference... I don't remember Sailor Moon commercials advertising to little ol' me that it was created by a woman. Cardcaptors (ugh that dub/butchering) same thing. I never knew that until I was much older, I didn't even know what manga was as a kid watching it. They were just awesome [at the time for Cardcaptors, but it lead me to the proper CCS which is awesome]. So I watched it. As kkmenchi said, The Boondocks as well.I watched it, and it was awesome. Never once did I know that it was created by a black man, I learned that much later. I didn't really think of who created it at all, I just loved it because it was well animated funny, and smart. This pushed me over the edge to cancel my membership. Which would've renewed in 2 days, so good timing CR. (Danmachi: Memoria Freese and the lies were a huge problem for me too) I also find it odd Crunchyroll wouldn't do an Avatar: The Last Airbender or Boondocks style show instead of something that looks western animated. I applaud the hand drawn animation, but I don't see why it's a Crunchyroll show. It should look like anime and be anime inspired. But it doesn't look like that at all. Odd choice. But that would've been fine if not for the focus on identity of it's creators over the content of the show. I don't care if you're a purple dinosaur. Just tell me about the show. I can visually see you're a woman, you don't need to tell me. I'm not impressed by you being a woman. Plenty of women have created animations before Plenty of women have written before. You're not special. That's not a selling point.
