I feel like in this case it's more of something along the lines of taking a shot at people that automatically declare games bad because they're not HD/4K/RTX Raytracing/etc. there's quite a few games I enjoy that have kinda butt-ugly graphics, but are still fun experiences.

As long as they're not hideously broken, consuming all possible resources or orders of magnitude worse than what was specifically advertised and hyped up in a blatant case of false advertising I generally don't care about graphics.
