"Twitter decided to bully him into oblivion"… yet another one shows they simply don't understand very large numbers. Everyone wants to give their two cents on the Latest Thing, and Twitter makes it easy.

How many people all saying "you suck" does it take to feel like a dogpile? A hundred? A thousand? Guess what – Twitter has a few more users than just that, and they all have a direct line to say it to your face.

It's not a bug, it's a feature. The original artist wanted to enjoy the benefits of a vast, interconnected network of people. Got hit by the opposite edge of that particular sword, but you can't have one without the other.

I sympathize with the artist and I understand the want to vent but if you want to not get people dogpiling on you no matter how justified you might feel it's better to be clever or funny with the way you vent that frustration. And as I responded to his post on twitter, drawing NSFW art and memes doesn't automatically you more popular, I should know.
