It's good that they're refurbishing and even redoing older models between Generations. SWSH was the last to use the long-outdated Gen 6 models.

Legends: Arceus was essentially the start of this as Pokemon had more vibrant colour schemes (like Roserade having a very anime-inspired colour scheme) and changing the 2D bodygrouped mouths and eyes into 3D ones, with the eyes now tracking whatever they look at rather than always facing forward.

And now there's extra detailing going into them this generation with stuff like scale patterns and I think even slight fur detailing.
