Michonne is an imaginary character from the comics series The Strolling Dead and is portrayed by Danai Gurira in the tv series of the exact same name. Manufacturer Frank Darabont mentioned in a meeting with Fearnet in 2011 that Michonne would officially appear in the third season of the show. After Darabont was fired, there was speculation that those plans might have altered. However, in an interview with The Watercooler in late January 2012, Gale Anne Hurd confirmed that Michonne would appear in future seasons. She had a primary function in season 3 and is tailoring up to be a major force in period 4.
