Melee had 5 clones and 1 pseudoclone, leaving 19 unique characters.
Brawl had 1 clone and 5 pseudoclones, leaving 29 unique characters.
Now that Lucina's here, Smash 4 has a grand total of TWO clones and only 1 pseudo. This means so far we already have 32 unique characters (and that's only counting the Mii Fighter once).
It's a pretty massive improvement over previous games, so I'm not complaining.
