Usually just bring my laptop and help out with whatever random office-type tasks need doing, throwing s--- together in ms office. I don't get to use an office room most of the time so l just set up in the ground-floor common area (not part of any of the residences) to do my s---. It's in view of Reception and vice-versa The only dress code is not being revealing / obscene so I just have jeans and whatever t-shirt. Being full power-revealing autist that I am, I'm wearing a pinkie pie shirt and giving no f---- (nobody in the place cares anyhow), cobbling some s--- together in excel for the director's monthly reports. I'm sitting in a couch chair, turned slightly sideways, my laptop on a coffee-table like thing in front of me, when I see a family checking in at reception. looks like single mother, two kids. I don't pay much attention to it I'm just plinking away at the work Mother is engrossed in checking in and eventually i notice one of her little girls (8? 9? 10? hell if I now) kind of staring at me from a few feet away. It's not unnerving or anything but I give her a brief smile and little wave before returning to my work. Well, she comes up to me and gives a little tap-tug on the fabric of my knee before backing off a step. They depart and I end up just sitting in the commons kind of stunned can't focus and I can't do any work, I'm just staring at my screen F--- it, I think I close up, sign out, and head out I go straight to the mall Walk right to build a bear Order up the new Pinkie plushy, dress, full works. Girl at checkout (late 20's? 30's?) straight up asks me if it's for me (im sure they had bronies and whatnot coming in already). I'll bet some of them lied (it's for my niece/daughter/cousin and all that) so lI don't know if I'll be believed but whatever, I tell her it's for a little girl who loves Pinkie at the shelter I volunteer at. She's quiet for a moment, then asks if I'm here on behalf of the shelter. "No, just spur of the moment, just wanted to give a gift say. She gives a big smile of her own, rings it up, then discounts the whole thing to zero. Turns out she's the manager, gives the plushie away as a donation. She ends up asking for MY number before I can do the same Zip back to the shelter asap. Head to reception desk. I'm not allowed in the residences, so l can't deliver this, but I talk to the desk clerk. S---, I don't know any of their names, but it's the same clerk as was checking them in earlier, so we figure out who I'm talking about.
