We can still get them later on. Sakurai and crew are on a tight schedule, and he said himself that he didn't think the Zero Suit Samus alts were capable of being made in time, so it's not all that surprising. I mean, just look at how long it takes for new alts in Project M to be released -- and that's with a team that works on their free time with no deadlines.

If we wind up getting DLC for the latest Smash games (which I sure hope we do), I'm sure we'll get more alts as part of it.
