“Have you ever been so angry that you X?” is an image macro series often used in discussion forums and online conversations to express anger or frustration. A typical instance consists of an image depicting human violence or destruction and the demotivational caption that reads “have you ever been so angry that you (X, verb)?”
Origin
On January 31, 2008, Fox News syndicated an Associated Press news article titled Another Opposition Lawmaker Killed in Kenya Violence. The story was accompanied by a picture of two opposition supporters in front a burning car in Kisumu, Kenya. Click here for the uncropped version of image.
In September 2009, a variant of this image with the words “Have you ever been so pissed off that you start swinging a cactus?” became popular. This picture was submitted to Imgur around that time and has over 500,000 views.
Spread
Another popular variation, “Have you ever been so angry that you tackled a horse?” seems to have originated with this picture posted on Pya.cc on November 26, 2009. The image was titled “乗馬拒否”, meaning “refusal of fare.” The image was spread around various forums and blogs, with its popularity peaking in May 2010.

Just noticed that in the oldest photos, there is the original captioned in both “Meanwhile, in Sudan” and “Meanwhile, in Nigeria”, and the original article is about Kenya. Nice job internet.
