The “Food shop guy” origins are from a TV news report in the “Would you live here ?” show on CBC, in an episode talking about the Toronto city, in Canada.
In the show, they interviewed a guy who is actually the president of the “Longos” groceries. When the CBC team asked the men what he think about Toronto, he answer that “It’s a small city, you know, when you go in some towns in the US, your’e gonna have a hotel, you have a bank, you have a foodshop and you have an office, so where you go you have to work.” and he said that with a lot of assurance and while laughing.
The funny part about this meme, is that the Food shop guy tells something that everybody could say normally in a discussion, while laughing so much without reason.
