Origin

On 2/18/2012, funnyjunk.com, a well known image-based website, was spammed by pictures of men in Afro wigs, accompanied by the phrase "tight fro wig". This confusing, yet strangely amusing "raid" was all carried out by a single user under names such as "thetightness", "tightfrowigg", and "titeforwig".

Spread/ researching

Through the dates of 2/18/2012 to 2/20/2012, tight fro wig was spammed to nearly every highest rated picture on the site. This became a problem to some users, as in the wake of tight fro wig, other old funnyjunk copypastas were brought back, such as Ray Bingo and Fat Ben made poop.

Reception

The constant posting of tight fro wig became a nuisance to a lot of funnyjunkies, calling it a "poor attempt at trolling", but many of the users praised it for its strangeness and originality, and thought of it as a change up from the usual funnyjunk, which has been stereotyped for consisting of re-posts and newfags.

Distorted/ creepy images

Around the second day of this happening, disturbing pictures of the men in tight fro wigs were spammed, instead of the normal ones. These depicted the normal men, only edited to look as scary as possible. Along with the distorted pictures of the men, another set of images were posted. These images were obviously made in photoshop or paint. They depicted a tall, skinny, black figure with small white eyes, and a red smile siting in a dark hallway. Sometimes "Help me" is written between it's legs. Both of these sets of images were usually spammed to people who commented on the normal tight fro wig pictures until they removed their comment. The first known creepy image was a normal tight fro wig guy with red eyes. The following image is a reconstruction.

Latin and Morse Code

In the first tight fro wig accounts, he would sometimes write a phrase in Latin or Morse Code. These phrases would often be cryptic, or creepy. Some of these mysterious comments were: "Help me", "I'm Sorry", and "Please forgive me!".
