On Monday, Nintendo revealed the SNES Classic, a video game console that will allow modern gamers to play Super Nintendo titles on modern televisions, to be released September 29th at an $80 price tag. The console will feature 20 classic games including Earthbound, Super Mario World, Legend of Zelda: A Link To the Past, and the previously unreleased Star Fox 2; a real treat for fans, as the game has been finished for over 20 years but has never been released.

After the wildly popular but notoriously hard-to-find NES Classic, Nintendo has promised the SNES classic will be easier to find, but those looking to purchase should go the route of preordering the console--though even that will be difficult. The Verge recommends vigilant checking of retail sites like Best Buy and Amazon, as well as following Twitter user @Wario64 for monitoring offers that can disappear in minutes.

Online, the news was met with excitement and skepticism. Twitter users were skeptical that Nintendo wouldn't screw up the rollout of the SNES Classic like they did the NES Classic.

Meanwhile, on Reddit, the top post on /r/gaming with over 40,000 points and counting at the time of writing joked about how the original Super NES would turn yellow years after use.

The SNES yellowed after 10 years.

If Nintendo has learned anything from their disastrous rollout of the NES Classic, they will not screw this up. But who can know, right?

Here's the full list of games that come with the SNES Classic:
