Archie Comics once tried to pitch Nintendo a comic book series based on the Mario games, but Nintendo rejected it.

They even tried to pitch both a Kirby comic and a Metroid comic, but they both got rejected as well.

And considering how awesome both the Sonic comics and the Mega Man comics are, this is a huge missed opportunity, especially for Mario who desperately needs more stories outside of just the RPG games and the old Super Mario Adventure Nintendo Power comics from the 90s.

Still Gutted Nintendo Rejected this… I love Archie Sonic (Both Old Continuity & New Continuity) & Archie Mega Man is Cool! Since Nintendo's Current Chief President is considering having their big Game proprieties being adapted into Movies & Japanese Animes, then I hope he considers American Comic Books as well in the Future. Those Valiant Nintendo Comics where Years Ago and I'm pretty sure someone could do a well done Job today with the expansive scale of their Game Universes have…
