In an interview on August 9th, Idris Elba publicly admitted that he's not happy with the meme about him choking on hot wings, which has been around since 2019. On The Daily Show With Trevor Noah, he insisted that his spice tolerance is much better than it appeared in the clip, and that he "eats pepper everyday." This interview has led to a resurgence in the meme format, which Idris Elba is probably not thrilled about.
The clip is used as a reaction gif of sorts, and it shows Idris Elba choking on a wing that's apparently way too hot on the celebrity game show Hot Ones. We doubt we'd be able to handle that level of spice either, but the clip, along with its dramatic background music, makes a great meme.
