Whether they're on Reddit or Twitter, it's clear that many people spend the majority of their time trying to land a perfect joke. Usually, it doesn't work too well, as the many downvotes and angry comments prove. Not all of us are that funny. We may think we are, but no one else seems to. Unless you happen to be one of the people witty enough to wind up immortalized in a screenshot on /r/TheRealJoke, which contains images of a joke that wasn't too funny getting dramatically altered by a great comment from someone way funnier than the original poster ever was.

There's nothing wrong with a joke relying on new voices to change it. Sometimes, this level of perfection can only be reached via collaboration from other users.
