Listen, we can all agree that adapting a beloved children's animated film into a live-action feature is a difficult task. Not only do filmmakers have to translate the whimsy inherent in animation into a real-seeming world, they also have to overcome decades of nostalgia in order to satisfy audiences who have loved the cartoon since they were children. Taking this challenge on seems like a herculean task destined to fail, yet studios keep on ordering them for some reason, despite audiences' tepid-to-outright hostile response.

We entered the latter category this week as Disney unveiled a proper trailer for their live-action adaptation Aladdin, and while there's much to discuss (such as, why does Jafar sound like that???), most Twitter users could only focus on Will Smith's jiggly wiggly blue approximation of a genie.
