This Cheez-It When Unnoticed For Several Years
In 2015, a Twitter user named Sara Smith began tweeting about a decorating adventure that was expected to last a few weeks but went on for four years. After seeing another user stick a potato chip to their wall that went unnoticed for weeks, Smith placed a Cheez-It cracker in her family's living room. However, it wasn't until October 6, 2019, that her father discovered the cracker and luckily for the world, the entire journey was captured on Twitter for years. Below is that journey.
First, the day that started it all!
I saw a tweet where a girl stuck a chip to the wall & her dad didnt notice it for weeks so im trying it w/ a cheezit pic.twitter.com/U2emzDYsZn

After she almost reached the first year of the Cheez-Itversary, she posted a Twitter poll to ask her followers if she should actually tell her father or not.

Following the overwheming response to her poll, Smith decided to leave the cracker up, but not without replacing it first because "they get gross."
bet y'all forgot about this thing cause i sure did!! day 563!! (except this is actually cheezit #3 bc they get gross & need to be replaced) pic.twitter.com/gDlnozHC6R

The world didn't receive a Cheez-It update until two years later when Smith confirmed the cracker was still up, despite moving out of her family's home. Even though she was no longer there to monitor the situation, her stepmother luckily joined in on the fun.

For Christmas in 2017, she even gifted her father a box of Cheez-It's, but he still had no idea what was going on.

On October 6, 2019, the Cheez-It was finally discovered, all thanks to Smith's brother-in-law.
thank you to everyone who’s supported the cheezit & i through the years, im sorry my naive family didn’t understand that when it rots you simply replace it. i’m just disappointed as you all are. 😔 pic.twitter.com/uhR0SKQvmq

The Cheez-It may have been taken down, but the memories will remain.
