Twitter Thought David Letterman Became A Sign Language Interpreter
While it's not rare for pandemic-related press conferences to take place on our televisions on a daily basis now, it is a surprise to see celebrities make cameos during these appearances. At least, that's what Twitter thought happened today when Georgia Governor Brian Kemp announced that his administration only learned in "the last 24 hours" that individuals who are asymptomatic could transmit the virus to others.
He announced this shocking development, a fact many already knew, in a press conference with the aid of a sign language interpreter who looked a little too much like comedian and former late-night talk show host, David Letterman. This close resemblance sent Letterman's name to trend, leaving many wondering if the comedian had caught the virus or had passed away. Fortunately for Letterman, he now has a doppelgänger that he can use at any time.
Two takes from this press conference… 1. The governor of Georgia either lives in a cave or watches a lot of Fox News. 2. David Letterman is really good at sign language. https://t.co/4QpAQO4dDx

Not only did he take up sign language, he appeared to be incredibly skilled at it.

I've seen lots of others make this Letterman joke, but this is the best one, due to the camera angle making it look like a "tiny David Letterman on the podium beside him" https://t.co/lolm5FKfxC
