Most common is an intense fear of the dark. As a kid, my brain would often play tricks on me and make me think the shadows in my room were moving. A lot of the time l'd see what appeared to be the shape of a man, moving along my walls. When I would tell my mom she would just say that the street lamps outside were casting shadows through my window. Of course I never believed her. I was convinced there was a ghost in my room, watching me sleep every night. I can recall one night, though, where my fear seemed to material I was 9 at the time. I remember it perfectly. It was a hot summer night and our air conditioning had broken the morning before. Of course my dad insisted he could fix it himself, but all his attempts just caused more problems. Well at this point it was unbearably hot in the house and the whole family was ready for bed. My mother went around as I changed into pajamas, opening all the windows in the house to allow the air to circulate. She kissed me goodnight, opened my window, and left the room. She shut the door behind her, which I always hated. It made me feel like I would have nowhere to go if something did happen And that's exactly what happened ! In my excitement, I made the mistake of relaxing and turning my back to my door to face the wall. That's when I heard the noises my parents weren't up, they both were heavy sleepers and they wouldn't be up until 7 AM. My older sister wasn't even home at the time. But I knew I heard the sounds of feet scuffing outside I knew my door. They got louder as they approached. At this point I was nearly in tears. I couldn't handle the impending feeling of terror. I jumped out of my bed, bawling, and ran to the corner of the room with my blanket and teddy bear. I pulled it up over my head and held Teddy close, shaking and sniffling. I didn't answer and he seemed to get angry. He asked again with a hint of malice and grabbed me by the arm to pull me up. I fought back. I fell over onto my side as he attempted to pull me up. I kicked and screamed until finally gave up and opened my eyes. He was gone. My mom and dad were running through my doorway. After I calmed down I tried to explain what I saw, but of course they told me it was just a dream and sent me back to bed. My parents moved into a larger house and my sister is off in California doing her "own thing as she called it when she was a teenager, so I was given the house to call my own So about a week ago I returned from a trip to the beach with a few friends I went to high school with. It was fantastic and I was nice and relaxed and ready for a nap when I got home. I pulled into the driveway sometime in the early morning, grabbed all my bags, and fumbled with my keys at my door. When I got inside, everything seemed alright for the most part. I sat my bags down on my couch and kicked off my shoes. I was about to plop down and turn on the TV when I heard what sounded like someone shifting around in my bedroom down the hall. My door was locked when I came in so I wasn't too worried. Probably just hearing things, I thought. Nonetheless, my curiosity got the best of me and I slowly headed down through my hallway to my bedroom. As I walked, I could hear more of that same shifting noise. Almost as if someone was laying in my bed. I relaxed for a second and sighed. A friend of mine had a key to my house and liked o crash here occasionally. He must've shown up while I was away. As I went to turn around, I heard i heard the crying I froze for a second, ready to have a panic attack. I caught my breath and turned around. In my comer was a huddled mass of blanket, shaking violently. I knew for a fact it wasn't there when I walked in, I would have noticed s eet up, throwing it back behind me. A small child wa itting in the corner, sobbing omething like that. I bent over and tore the sh as he w loudly with his head buried in his knees to his si didn't answer, and out of fear, I asked him again while grabbing his arm to help him up. He immediately slid or ked him what he was doing there. I was just as frightened and went to kick me in the knee. During the summer of 2003, events in the northeastern United States involving a strange, humanlike creature sparked brief local media interest before an apparent blackout was enacted. Little or no information was left intact, as most online and written accounts of the creature were Primarily focused in rural New York state, self proclaimed witnesses tolod stories of thier enounters with a creature of unkown origin. Emotions ranged from extremely traumatic levels of fright and discomfort, to an almost childike sense of playfulness and curiosity. While their published versions are no longer on record, the memories remained powerful. Several of the involved parties began looking for answers that year In early 2006, the collaboration had accumulated nearly two dozern documents dating between the 12th century and present day, spanning 4 continents. In almost all cases, the stories were identical. I've been in contact with a member of this group and was able to get some exceprts from their upco ming book. A Suicide Note: 1964 As I prepare to take my life, I feel it necessary to assuage any guilt or pain I have introduced through this act. It is not the fault of anyone other than him. For once I awoke and felt his presence. And once I awoke and saw his form. Once again I awoke and heard his voice, and looked into his eyes. I cannot sleep without fear of what I might next awake to experience. I cannot ever wake. We were all very exhausted after a long day of driving, so my husband and I put the kids right to bed and called it a night. At about 4am, I woke up thinking my husband had gotten up to use the restroom. I used the moment to steal back the sheets, only to wake him in the process. I appologized and told him I though he got out of bed. When he turned to face me, he gasped and pulled his feet up from the end of the bed so quickly his knee almost knocked me out of the bed. He then grabbed me and said nothing After adjusting to the dark for a half second, I was able to see what caused the strange reaction. At the foot of the bed, sitting and facing away from us, there was what appeared to be a naked man, or a large hairless dog of some sort. It's body position was disturbing and unnatural, as if it had been hit by a car or something. For some reason, I was not instantly frightened by it, but more concerned as to its condition. At this point I was somewhat under the assumption that we were supposed to My husband was peering over his arm and knee, tucked into the fetal position, occasionally glancing at me before returning to the creature In a flurry of motion, the creature scrambled around the side of the bed and then crawled quickly in a flailing sort of motion right along the bed until it was less than a foot from my husband's face. The creature was completely silent for about 30 seconds (or probably closer to 5, it just seemed like a while) just looking at my husband. The creature then placed its hand on his knee and ran into the hallway, leading to the kids' rooms. I screamed and ran for the lightswitch, planning to stop him before he hurt my children. When I got to the hallway, the light from the bedroom was enough to see it crouching and hunched over about 20 feet away. He turned around and looked directly at me, covered in blood. I flipped the on er The creature ran down the stairs while my husband and I rushed to help our daughter. She was very badly injured and spoke only once more in her short life. She said he is the Rake" My husband drove his car into a lake that night, while rushing our daughter no Being a small town, news got around pretty quickly. The police were helpful at first, and the local newspaper took a lot of interest as well However, the story was never published and the local television news never followed up either For several months, my son Justin and I stayed in a hotel near my parent's house. After we decided to return home, I began looking for answers myself. I eventualy located a man in the next town over who had a similar story. We got in contact and began talking about our experiences. He knew of two other people in New York who had seen the creature we now referred to as the Rake It took the four of us about two solid years of hunting on the internet and writing letters to come up with a small collection of what we believe to be accounts of the Rake. None of them gave any details, history or follow up One journal had an entry involving the creature in its first 3 pages, and never mentioned it again. A ship's log explained nothing of the encounter saying only that they were told to leave by the Rake. That was the last en in the log There were, however, many instances where the creature's visit was one of a series of visits with the same person. Multiple people also mentioned being spoken to, my daughter included. This led us to wonder if the Rake had visited any of us before our last encounter I set up a digital recorder near my bed and left it running all night, every night, for two weeks. I would tediously scan through the sounds of me rolling around in my bed each day when I woke up. By the end of the second week, I was quite used to the occasional sound of sleep while blurring through the recording at 8 times the normal speed. (This still took On the first day of the third week, I thought I heard something different. What I found was a shrill voice. It was the Rake. I can't listen to it long enough to even begin to transcribe it. I haven't let anyone listen to it yet. All I know is that I've heard it before, and I now believe that it spoke when it was sitting in front of my husband. I don't remember hearing anything at the time, but for some reason, the voice on the recorder The thoughts that must have gone through my daughter's head make me very upset. It all began after I got a tape of some old颻edd, & eddy episodes from my buddy, it was his favorite show when he was little but decided to give his recorded episodes to his 2 year old cousin, į was hanging out in his living room and he was babysitting her one afternoon, we were just watching some TV and having a couple beers when all of a sudden his little cousin runs out of the room screaming and crying like a banshee, we both got up and ran over to her, thinking she was injured in some way only to find out that there wasn't a scratch on her, after a few minutes she finally calm down enough to tell us that she thought "eddy came to get her" we simply looked at each other and thought she fell asleep and hada nightmare or something, į went to the room to check it out, only to see the old ed, edd, & eddy cartoons my buddy recorded years ago playing on the TV t was around this time that my buddy's sister came to pick up her daughter, who was still undeniably frightened from her "bad dream" his sister was very worried and began fighting with my buddy about not keeping an eye on her, i figured this was my queue to leave but before i left į asked him if į could borrow the tape to see if anything on it could have scared her like that, he assured me that there was nothing on the tape but let me take it because it was obviously not wanted by his little cousin A couple days past by and finally got a chance to sit down and watch the tape, į had just got off work and my fiancée was at her mother's house for a couple days so j had time to kill, i popped in the tape and let it rewind to the beginning, while it was rewinding i got up and made a quick TV dinner, when i came back it had already started playing everything seemed fine as the eds were doing their usual wacky things trying all so hard to achieve the coveted jawbreaker like every episode, į sat and watched as waves of nostalgia hit me over and over, i have to admit į understand why i loved this show when į was a kid as well, an adult less world overrun by kids where they could build and do anything they desired, seemed continued to watch episode after episode, even watched the commercials of old just for extra nostalgia kick. į had to admit į was enjoying this little glimpse of the past, it had me glued to the screen, but al these fun happy memories suddenly vanished when something strange happened, during the middle of one of the episodes double D in mid-sentence started talking backwards for about 10 seconds, then continued on with his sentence, į grabbed the remote and tried to rewind it, only to find out that the mashing of the rewind button did nothing, the tape continued to play forward, į got out of my seat and pressed the rewind button on the VCR, still nothing happened the tape played onwards. į stood up and watched the eds on the screen nothing seemed out of the ordinary, į was slightly shook from the inability to rewind but į swallowed the feeling and sat back down and watched as the cartoon rolled on a few minutes after į sat down, eddy had finally had gotten his jawbreaker which he had been working the whole episode to achieve, he quickly threw the giant over-sized candy in his mouth and enjoyed the fruits of his labour, when suddenly he froze in place and looked dead at the screen, he made a gulping sound as the iawbreaker moved from the inside of his cheek the center of his throat, the screen started to twist turned ing purple bloodshot and red, a high pitched ringing slowly faded into the entire room as while eddy s p rapidl thev ran down t looked almost real.. My friends and I heard of this "cool" graveyard that was popular with the local teens aptly called "Gates of Hell," which is in Elizabethtown. This place has such a big reputation, that word of it was floating around Louisville, about an hour north, where we lived. I finally convinced three of my friends, Jen, Kayla, and Alex, to come after a few hours of nagging. My one stipulation was that I really wanted to go on a full moon. Looking at a calendar, I realized that a full moon was almost a month away, but a new moon was going to be that Thursday, so I settled for that. That was my mistake After three intense days of waiting, it was finally Thursday. I couldn't contain my excitement, and I couldn't find a way to pass the time. Somehow, I managed to wait until dark before we left. We stopped at a gas station and I topped off my little Chevy Malibu, grabbed a few snacks, and we were on our way An hour later, we'd reached Elizabethtown. It was quaint, and little, and most definitely a boring place to call home. There was no way that this little boring town could hold something as evil as "Gates of Hell. Oh, how I was wrong We drove through town and finally got to St. John's Road, the street that has the graveyard at the very end. Other than the thick fog that randomly appeared and disappeared (a common thing in Kentucky, with all of its hills) I still couldn't find anything creepy yet, so I was calm. Needless to say, I was the only one that was. Jen was chain smoking (her coping mechanism, I'd discovered), Kayla was cursing my existence, and Alex was oddly quiet, but I could see that his whole body was shaking Now, if you've never been on St. John's Road, it's pretty much like any country road for a while. It's two lanes, surrounded by forest and occasional houses. But, near the very end, it becomes one lane. There were still a few sparse homes, so I felt like we were still in civilization, but then the road became gravel, the road narrower and the forest more oppressing, blocking out the whole sky. The houses were gone Normally, I'd just be p----- because this meant I'd have to leave by driving in reverse, but I realized that if, for some reason, something was after us, we'd be screwed. That's when I first felt the panic. I kept driving for what felt like forever down the dark gravel road. It felt like it was longer than all of the rest of St. John's Road, though Google Maps seems to think otherwise. All three of my friends were about beside themselves with fear now, so I tried to reassure them that we'd be fine and laugh about it the next day. I wish t were true After what seemed like every bit of half an hour, we arrived at almost exactly midnight. At first, none of us wanted to get out, which p----- me off because it took a quarter of a tank of gas to get there. Finally, I got the nerve up to get out of the car with my lame little hand-crank flashlight, but I decided to save its juice and just use the light from my headlights. I pleaded with my friends to get out, and after a while, they did. We wandered around the outskirts of the graveyard and realized that it was actually kind of relaxing, which we found odd, considering we were in a creepy graveyard in the middle of nowhere at midnight. I ran out into the graves because I wanted to see some of the dates. I trudged through the thorny weeds, glad that I had worn jeans, and I saw that most of the graves were small and for children. It sent a chill up my spine. I looked at dates on some of the bigger and less worn ones. 1887, 1804, 1839. The only thing I could say was "Wow." I had no idea that it was this old. My friends had joined me, and they, too were taken aback. I looked out into the distance, and I saw a lone tree in the clearing. I pointed it out, and Jen, the expert on local lore (and the one who told me of this graveyard in the first place), told me that the tree was the "Lynch Tree," where they had apparently lynched a bunch of Confederate deserters back in the day. For some reason, I felt compelled to go touch it. Kayla and Alex would have none of it, but Jen came with me. I ran ahead and got to the tree first, and I began to look around it. Then something tapped me on my shoulder. I looked, but there was no one there, and Jen was still about fifteen feet behind me. Then it happened. The lights of my car shut off, leaving us in complete darkness. The laughter came from all around us. Childrens laughter. I heard a blood-curling scream from Kayla. I frantically grabbed the flashlight from my pocket and turned it on. The light was weak, but it was enough to see the silhouette of a little girl run out of the beam. My friends and I heard of this "cool" graveyard that was popular with the local teens aptly called "Gates of Hell," which is in Elizabethtown. This place has such a big reputation, that word of it was floating around Louisville, about an hour north, where we lived. I finally convinced three of my friends, Jen, Kayla, and Alex, to come after a few hours of nagging. My one stipulation was that I really wanted to go on a full moon. Looking at a calendar, I realized that a full moon was almost a month away, but a new moon was going to be that Thursday, so I settled for that. That was my mistake After three intense days of waiting, it was finally Thursday. I couldn't contain my excitement, and I couldn't find a way to pass the time. Somehow, I managed to wait until dark before we left. We stopped at a gas station and I topped off my little Chevy Malibu, grabbed a few snacks, and we were on our way An hour later, we'd reached Elizabethtown. It was quaint, and little, and most definitely a boring place to call home. There was no way that this little boring town could hold something as evil as "Gates of Hell. Oh, how I was wrong We drove through town and finally got to St. John's Road, the street that has the graveyard at the very end. Other than the thick fog that randomly appeared and disappeared (a common thing in Kentucky, with all of its hills) I still couldn't find anything creepy yet, so I was calm. Needless to say, I was the only one that was. Jen was chain smoking (her coping mechanism, I'd discovered), Kayla was cursing my existence, and Alex was oddly quiet, but I could see that his whole body was shaking Now, if you've never been on St. John's Road, it's pretty much like any country road for a while. It's two lanes, surrounded by forest and occasional houses. But, near the very end, it becomes one lane. There were still a few sparse homes, so I felt like we were still in civilization, but then the road became gravel, the road narrower and the forest more oppressing, blocking out the whole sky. The houses were gone Normally, I'd just be p----- because this meant I'd have to leave by driving in reverse, but I realized that if, for some reason, something was after us, we'd be screwed. That's when I first felt the panic. I kept driving for what felt like forever down the dark gravel road. It felt like it was longer than all of the rest of St. John's Road, though Google Maps seems to think otherwise. All three of my friends were about beside themselves with fear now, so I tried to reassure them that we'd be fine and laugh about it the next day. I wish t were true After what seemed like every bit of half an hour, we arrived at almost exactly midnight. At first, none of us wanted to get out, which p----- me off because it took a quarter of a tank of gas to get there. Finally, I got the nerve up to get out of the car with my lame little hand-crank flashlight, but I decided to save its juice and just use the light from my headlights. I pleaded with my friends to get out, and after a while, they did. We wandered around the outskirts of the graveyard and realized that it was actually kind of relaxing, which we found odd, considering we were in a creepy graveyard in the middle of nowhere at midnight. I ran out into the graves because I wanted to see some of the dates. I trudged through the thorny weeds, glad that I had worn jeans, and I saw that most of the graves were small and for children. It sent a chill up my spine. I looked at dates on some of the bigger and less worn ones. 1887, 1804, 1839. The only thing I could say was "Wow." I had no idea that it was this old. My friends had joined me, and they, too were taken aback. I looked out into the distance, and I saw a lone tree in the clearing. I pointed it out, and Jen, the expert on local lore (and the one who told me of this graveyard in the first place), told me that the tree was the "Lynch Tree," where they had apparently lynched a bunch of Confederate deserters back in the day. For some reason, I felt compelled to go touch it. Kayla and Alex would have none of it, but Jen came with me. I ran ahead and got to the tree first, and I began to look around it. Then something tapped me on my shoulder. I looked, but there was no one there, and Jen was still about fifteen feet behind me. Then it happened. The lights of my car shut off, leaving us in complete darkness. The laughter came from all around us. Childrens laughter. I heard a blood-curling scream from Kayla. I frantically grabbed the flashlight from my pocket and turned it on. The light was weak, but it was enough to see the silhouette of a little girl run out of the beam. I was so scared, I couldn't even move, so I decided so shine my light around and see if I could find my friends. I couldn't. Not even Jen. I called out to them, but there was silence. I called again, just in case maybe I hadn't heard them. A little boy's voice coming from right behind me said "They're not here anymore I ran to my car. I ran faster than I had ever ran in my life. I tripped over a few graves, even knocking over a small obelisk, but I was determined not to fall, and I kept going. The flashlight died just as I reached my car and dove in, but the car wouldn't start--the battery in it had died, too. Of course. So, I resorted to cowering in fear in the drivers seat. Slowly, my eyes adjusted to the lack of light, and I saw them. The faces of little dead children. Surrounding my car. I wasn't religious, but I shut my eyes as tight as I possibly could and began to feverishly pray. MINECRAFT I had recently spawned a new world in single-plauer Minecraft. Everything was normal at first as l began chopping down trees and crafting a workbench. I noticed something move amongst the dense fog ll ha pursued it, hoping to grab some hides for armor ry slow computer so l have to play with tin render distancel. I thought it was a cow, so l It wasn't a cow though. Looking back at me was another character with the default skin, but his eyes were empty. I saw no name pop-up, and I double-checked to make sure l wasn't in multiplager mode. He didn't stay long, he looked at me and quickly ran into the foq. I pursued out of curiousitų, but he was qone I continued on with the game, not sure what to think. As l ewpanded the world I saw things that seemed for the random map ge tor to make: 2x2 In TI3 TmI made of sand intheocean, and groves of trees with all their leaves cut off. I would constantly thinkI aw the other "player" in the deep fog, but Inever got a better look at hirm. I tried increasing my render distance to ar whenever I thought I saw him, but to no avail I saved the map and went on the forums to see if anyone else had found the pseudo-player. There were none. I created my Own topic telling of the man and asking if anyoe had a similar experience. The post was deleted within five minutes. I tried again, and the topic was deleted even faster. I recieved a PM From username 'Herobrine' containing one word: 'Stop.' When l went to look at Herobrine's profile, the page 404'd I recieved an email from another forum user. He claimed the mods can read the forum user messages, so we were safer using email. The emailer claimed that he had seen the mystery plager too, and had a small 'directory' of other users who had seen him as well. Their worlds were littered with obviously man-made fe res as well, and described the ir mystery player to ha bout a onth passed until I heard from! informant again. Sicme of the people who had encountered the mystery man had looked into the name Herobrine and found that name to be frequently used by a swedish gamer. ter some further information gathering, it was revealed to be the brother of Notch, the game's developer. I personally emailed Notch, and asked him if he had a brother. It is a long story, but for you f------ who would go TL:DR-this story is not for you, so f--- off You see, I am a simple college student living alone in an apartment. I was very enthusiastic about the release of HeartGold/SoulSilver on the states. I have purposely locked myself out of all media and the internet aside for school purposes. That means no 4chan, no , no Bulbapedia, etc. As I was busy with the school year and being a poorfag at the time, I wasnt able to buy SoulSilver on launch date. Ater my school year ended, I ordered SoulSilver on Amazon (sorry, Im not a faggy pirate). However, it would take a week for it to arrive. I decided that during that time, I replay my Crystal version on my Gameboy Color Anonymous 06/06/10(Sun 21:58 No4574137 However, I realized that long ago, my mom threw it away because I told her the save went dead, and I was very upset about it then. She also threw away my Silver version, so all I have is my Gameboy Color. As such, I set out to Gamestop and bought a used Silver version, as it's the only Pokemon game left that they have for op. I went home and started it up for a nostalgia trip. However, that's where things started getting bizarre, and most likely the reason why you read this. The Gamefreak logo started up as normal, but it just froze there. I thought the cart was just errored or something, so I tumed it off and on. The same thing happened. I tried pressing A and Start over and aver, and all of the buttons. Eventually, the logo vanished and there was a black screen for about fve seconds Suddenly, rather than going to the usual menu screen, I was already in the game in a previous saved file, which was odd as I was expecting all of these carts t have been wiped by the poor battery. Either way, I wasn't complaining, as I would have chosen the "Continue" option to see what the previous guy did anyways Anonymous 06/06 10(Sun)22:00 No.4574153 First off, I checked his trainer information. His name was just"- He didn't have much oniginality Anonymous 06/06/10(Sun)22:00 No.4574169 I checked his profile and apparently he had 999.99 hours put into the game, with all 16 badges, 999999 Pokedollars and all 251 Pokemon on the Pokedex Anonymous 06 06/10(Sun 2201 No.4574185 Seeing as he apparently had Mew and Celebi logged also, I am guessing he either used a Game Genie or is a really hardcore Pokemon player back then Anonymous 0606/10(Sun)22 01 No.4574197 I checked his Pokemon to see what badass team he has. To my surprise, I saw 5 Unowns and a sixth Pokemon named "HURRY". I'm thinking that this must be some cruel joke by the person who last played this game, but I decided to check the profiles of those Pokemon anyways. As expected, they were different letters of Unown, all Level 5. I was a bit shaky with my Unown alphabet at the time, but I identified the word out to be "LEAVE As for the sixth Pokemon, it tumed out to be a Cyndaquil (mind you, this is before there were individualized Pokemon icons). The Cyndaquil looked normal, but it was Level 5 with only 1 HP left with only two attacks: "Leer" and "Flash". I don't know why they named him HURRY", but at the time, I just disregarded it. The most eerie thing was that, despite my volume being at max, none of the Pokemon he had said thei usual cries. Just pure silence Having enough of the team, I closed it. I was parked at what appears to be a room inside Bellsprout Tower. However, for some reason, there were no NPCs around. Even more eerie was that the "pillar in the middle didn't move at all, as if just leaning on its side. There was no music at al, and there was no exit or ladder, or least I thought there wasn't. s 06/06/10(Sun)22:02 No.4574211 I walked around for a few minutes but can't seem to find a way out. This was certainly not a room Ive seen in the Bellsprout Tower before. Ive tried checking my items for an Escape Rope, but the bag was wasn't any Wild either Finally, 've managed to find a ladder, which tumed out to be behind the "pillar. The screen turned black and the music finally started playing. I had a sudden chill, as I recognize that melody I heard to be the theme you hear when you listened to the radio at the Alph Ruins where the Unown are at. l immediately realize that it wasn't a loading transition, but rather I was in a dark room and would need Flash. BeforeI took care of that though, I immediately checked my Pokegear to change the radio to something more pleasant,but it turns out that there was no Radio card, or even a Phone nor Time cards. There was only a Map card in which Gold"from earlier, and I will call him Gold from now on) was just walking in a Anonymous 06/06/10(Sun)22:03 No.4574219 I recall that Cyndaquil has Flash, so I tumed off my Pokegear and made Cyndaquil use Flash. I didnt see any message saying HURRY has used Flash!" or anything like that. The room just became lit just like that, and I soon regretted it. The room was a chilling blood-red with a linear gray path heading south. The ladder I used to go up/down was not there at all I had no choice but to head south. The screen got darker every 20 steps I made, until I finally made it to the end, which appears to be a sign. I read the sign, which said TURN BACK NOW Suddenly, I was asked to answer YESNO, but there was no question asked. I chose YES as I do not know what it was asking, and the screen went black again, making a "ladder climbed" sound. The Unown Radio music stopped, and in a few seconds was replaced with the not-as-creepy Poke Flute radio music n)22 03 No.4574231 I was in another dark room, but I held my breath and used Flash again. Suddenly, it said that "HURRY has fainted which was odd since I recall that there was no status conditions like Poison on him, and I clearly same thing as before and spelled out the Unown. My then team of Unown spelled "HEDIED Either way, after that creepy change, the room was lit to reveal myself in a very small room that appears to be only four squares big. The walls of that room were gray bricks, as I was inside something that was a bit of investigating, none of my Pokemon are there, but instead al replaced with Level 10 Unown. I did the hollowed out. Outside that room appears to be a bunch of graves similar to the ones in Pokemon Red/Blue. Ive walked around that small room and pressed A but nothing happened Ive already concluded that this was clearly a hacked game and some sadistic f--- sold it to Gamestop. However, my curiosity kept me going. I checked the trainer profile ofagain only to find out that the sprite of Gold was missing his arms. He also seems to appear less smug, but rather seems more sad and empty in a way that I do not know how to describe. For some reason, it also now said that he has 24 badges, sible After a few minutes of aimless wondering, my character suddenly spun and did the Escape Rope spinning animation. Instead of flying up though, my character spun downwards slowly, as if sinkoing After that screen, the music stopped. After finally landing, the overworld sprite of Gold is coloured differently now. Instead of the usual red colour he dons, he appears completely white now, including his skin. It'sa if he came straight from the colorless Game Boy games placed into a colored background of the Gameboy Color. I checked his profile, and now, while now is as white as his overworld sprite, he lost his legs and has what appears to be bloody tears from his eyes. It also says he now has 32 badges, which now starts to disturb me as this change of number seems to represent something important I also checked my Pokemon, which this time contains 5 Unowns and a Level 100 Celebi without a nickname. The Unown are this time Leveled 15 and spelled out "DYING". I checked the Celebis profile. It was a shiny Celebi, except there's only half of the sprite. One leg, one arm, one eye. It only has one attack: "Perish Song Anonymous 06 06/10(Sun 2204 No.4574245 The area I was in itself was the Sprout Tower with the immobile pillar as before, except everything is apparently red now. I walked north for what felt like forever. Eventually, I finally encountered some generic men and women NPC. They were all lined up to the side just facing the long slantish pillar in the middle. They were aso white, and nothing happens when I try to speak to them. I kept on going north until eventually the pillar finally appears chopped off, with a transparent Red in that spot. I went up to Red and without even pressing A, I was suddenly engaged and finaly in a battle. The music starts again, which it sounds like the Unown Radio music again, but played backwards. Gold's battle backsprite matches his front one with the bloody eyes, white skin, and lack of arms, while Reds sprite was the same as before in GSC except transparent. The text simply said "wants to battlel" as if he has no name, and both of us only have one Pokemon each, which is weird as I swear I had six with the Unowns. My shiny Celebi came out, conveniently with half-a-sprite for the back sprite also. The "Shiny" noise and animation was different, as the sounds it made sound like multiple "Screech" attacks used consecutively. Red sent out a seemingly normal male Pikachu, except he is Level 255 and his sprite seems sad and has tears in his eyes Rather than the usual "FIGHTITEMWPKMN/RUN menu, I was only given the option to use the Attacks. Since Celebi only has one, I chose it. Naturally, since Pikachu was Level 255, he went first Anonymous 06/06/10(Sunj22 05 No.4574262 PIKACHU used CURSE", lowering his Speed and increasing his other Stats. Im not even sure if Pikachu could even use Curse "CELEBI used PERISH SONG「In three turns, both Pokemon get KOd-nt like I have a choice this point, it didn't even go back to the Fight menu, as the battle just continued without me. Also note that there was no animations at all for some reason. PIKACHU used FLAILI, which didnt do much damage despite his Level and boost as his health was maxed ℃ELEBI used Pensh Song" Nothing happens as it was already used PIKACHU used FRUSTRATIONr", which did a shiton of damage, knocking Celebi down to less than 10 HP CELEBI used Pain Split!" which surprised me as Celebi didn't even have that attack in the first place. Now Celebi and Pikachu have about 150 HP PIKACHU used MEAN LOOK! Not like that did anything As expected, due to the effects of Perish Song, my Celebi fainted. Except in the text, it said "CELEBI has died! and instead of the ordinary drop off the screen animation, the CELEBI backsprite just vanished. For some reason, the Pikachu was still up even with Perish Song and it didn't count as my lost. Pikachu used one more different attack beyond the 5 attack limit: Afterwards, it said "PIKACHU has died", with a slow fade-out animation. Apparently, I was the winner, as the transparent Red Sprite showed up and said Anonymous 06 06/10(Sun)22:05 No.4574269 At that point,I just freaked out, as that transparent Red sprite was suddenly beheaded, leaving nothing but his transparent body. The battle then ended at that point and faded out along with the music Im back in the overworld, with another change to the Gold sprite he's now as transparent as Red's overworld sprite. I quickly checked Gold's profile, where this time the only thing remains of him is his head, with a transparent skin. The head was zoomed in a bit, showing a black void in his eyes. It now stated that he now has 40 badges. I then backed out and checked my Pokemon. They were all Level 20 Shiny Unown I was at what I now know is next to the end. There was apparently no music playing, but for some reason I still felt like something was there that could be heard. I was back in my room in New Bark Town. Maybe finally I get to play this game properly, but who am I kidding. I knew that sadistic f--- must have done something. I "walked around my room to interact with things, as I'm a bit afraid to go down the stairs to see what was awaiting down there. Note I said walked, as while the background was moving. Gold was not moving his transparent limbs at all while doing so, just floating like those ghosts you see in Diamond/Pean Anonymous 06 06/10(Sun)2206 No.4574284 As expected, the radio, computer, and TV did not work, so I had no choice but to go down the stairs. I ended up in the same lower level room of my house. Everything appears normal, except mom isnt home. After failing to interact with anything in this room, I decided to go outside. To my surprised, that door leading outside at the south didn't work, and instead I just walk straight through it to a void. I continued moving south to see what the f--- was going on. My house vanishes as I head south into the void. It was creepy as when I entered the void, the outline on Gold's transparent sprite turned white to contrast with the pitch black Eventually, I reached a white area and Gold's sprite turned black and transparent again. I continued south without thinking of stopping at all After a long trek south, I finally encountered something. It was GOLD's regular sprite. I talked to it. He said "Good bye forever"(notably with a space inbetween the forever and) and vanished. As that happened, it said "?? used NIGHTMARE" which at that point, I would not deny that being possible. Gold did another Escape Rope animation spinning slowly downwards like before not even wall bumping noise. I Im now back into that small hollowed-out room surrounded by graves earlier. Or at least I say I was back there, as there's no sprite anymore. I tried to walk around but nothing moved checked my trainer profile with absolutely no Gold sprite left. It said I have 0 badges and all the pictures of the Johto Gym Leaders at the bottom were replaced with skulls Anonymous 06/06/10(Sun)22:07 No.4574293 I checked my Pokemon, which were all Level 25 Unown. As expected, it spelled out a phrase that I dared to read. "IMDEAD As soon as I went back to the overworld, the room I supposedly was in was then covered with the same blocks as the walls. I then figured out what exactly that room was when the final text was said: "R.I.P... That room was a big grave, surrounded by other grave. Gold has already been dead. He died presumably a few years after he defeated Red Anonymous 06/06/10(Sun)22:07 No.4574301 He was a young trainer who, despite his efforts in collecting so many badges and attempts at becoming a Pokemon master, was still unable to avoid the inevitable fate of death, and his efforts were eventually I was unable to escape from that text no matter what I pressed. I tried resetting the game, and the same thing happened, at which I then finally decided to give up on that horible nightmare Ater that experience, I will never look at the "gimmick Unown the same way again. They say that only the first generation have folk tales and legends, but the second generation have shown me how unpleasant the truth can be. I eventually enjoyed SoulSilver immensely, but I sti cant unthink what that rigged game have told me END

To my surprise, I saw 5 Unowns and a sixth Pokemon named "HURRY". I'm thinking that this must be some cruel joke by the person who last played this game, but I decided to check the profiles of those Pokemon anyways. As expected, they were different letters of Unown, all Level 5. I was a bit shaky with my Unown alphabet at the time, but I identified the word out to be "LEAVE As for the sixth Pokemon, it tumed out to be a Cyndaquil (mind you, this is before there were individualized Pokemon icons). The Cyndaquil looked normal, but it was Level 5 with only 1 HP left with only two attacks: "Leer" and "Flash". I don't know why they named him HURRY", but at the time, I just disregarded it. The most eerie thing was that, despite my volume being at max, none of the Pokemon he had said thei usual cries. Just pure silence Having enough of the team, I closed it. I was parked at what appears to be a room inside Bellsprout Tower. However, for some reason, there were no NPCs around. Even more eerie was that the "pillar in the middle didn't move at all, as if just leaning on its side. There was no music at al, and there was no exit or ladder, or least I thought there wasn't. s 06/06/10(Sun)22:02 No.4574211 I walked around for a few minutes but can't seem to find a way out. This was certainly not a room Ive seen in the Bellsprout Tower before. Ive tried checking my items for an Escape Rope, but the bag was wasn't any Wild either Finally, 've managed to find a ladder, which tumed out to be behind the "pillar. The screen turned black and the music finally started playing. I had a sudden chill, as I recognize that melody I heard to be the theme you hear when you listened to the radio at the Alph Ruins where the Unown are at. l immediately realize that it wasn't a loading transition, but rather I was in a dark room and would need Flash. BeforeI took care of that though, I immediately checked my Pokegear to change the radio to something more pleasant,but it turns out that there was no Radio card, or even a Phone nor Time cards. There was only a Map card in which Gold"from earlier, and I will call him Gold from now on) was just walking in a Anonymous 06/06/10(Sun)22:03 No.4574219 I recall that Cyndaquil has Flash, so I tumed off my Pokegear and made Cyndaquil use Flash. I didnt see any message saying HURRY has used Flash!" or anything like that. The room just became lit just like that, and I soon regretted it. The room was a chilling blood-red with a linear gray path heading south. The ladder I used to go up/down was not there at all I had no choice but to head south. The screen got darker every 20 steps I made, until I finally made it to the end, which appears to be a sign. I read the sign, which said TURN BACK NOW Suddenly, I was asked to answer YESNO, but there was no question asked. I chose YES as I do not know what it was asking, and the screen went black again, making a "ladder climbed" sound. The Unown Radio music stopped, and in a few seconds was replaced with the not-as-creepy Poke Flute radio music n)22 03 No.4574231 I was in another dark room, but I held my breath and used Flash again. Suddenly, it said that "HURRY has fainted which was odd since I recall that there was no status conditions like Poison on him, and I clearly same thing as before and spelled out the Unown. My then team of Unown spelled "HEDIED Either way, after that creepy change, the room was lit to reveal myself in a very small room that appears to be only four squares big. The walls of that room were gray bricks, as I was inside something that was a bit of investigating, none of my Pokemon are there, but instead al replaced with Level 10 Unown. I did the hollowed out. Outside that room appears to be a bunch of graves similar to the ones in Pokemon Red/Blue. Ive walked around that small room and pressed A but nothing happened Ive already concluded that this was clearly a hacked game and some sadistic f--- sold it to Gamestop. However, my curiosity kept me going. I checked the trainer profile ofagain only to find out that the sprite of Gold was missing his arms. He also seems to appear less smug, but rather seems more sad and empty in a way that I do not know how to describe. For some reason, it also now said that he has 24 badges, sible After a few minutes of aimless wondering, my character suddenly spun and did the Escape Rope spinning animation. Instead of flying up though, my character spun downwards slowly, as if sinkoing After that screen, the music stopped. After finally landing, the overworld sprite of Gold is coloured differently now. Instead of the usual red colour he dons, he appears completely white now, including his skin. It'sa if he came straight from the colorless Game Boy games placed into a colored background of the Gameboy Color. I checked his profile, and now, while now is as white as his overworld sprite, he lost his legs and has what appears to be bloody tears from his eyes. It also says he now has 32 badges, which now starts to disturb me as this change of number seems to represent something important I also checked my Pokemon, which this time contains 5 Unowns and a Level 100 Celebi without a nickname. The Unown are this time Leveled 15 and spelled out "DYING". I checked the Celebis profile. It was a shiny Celebi, except there's only half of the sprite. One leg, one arm, one eye. It only has one attack: "Perish Song Anonymous 06 06/10(Sun 2204 No.4574245 The area I was in itself was the Sprout Tower with the immobile pillar as before, except everything is apparently red now. I walked north for what felt like forever. Eventually, I finally encountered some generic men and women NPC. They were all lined up to the side just facing the long slantish pillar in the middle. They were aso white, and nothing happens when I try to speak to them. I kept on going north until eventually the pillar finally appears chopped off, with a transparent Red in that spot. I went up to Red and without even pressing A, I was suddenly engaged and finaly in a battle. The music starts again, which it sounds like the Unown Radio music again, but played backwards. Gold's battle backsprite matches his front one with the bloody eyes, white skin, and lack of arms, while Reds sprite was the same as before in GSC except transparent. The text simply said "wants to battlel" as if he has no name, and both of us only have one Pokemon each, which is weird as I swear I had six with the Unowns. My shiny Celebi came out, conveniently with half-a-sprite for the back sprite also. The "Shiny" noise and animation was different, as the sounds it made sound like multiple "Screech" attacks used consecutively. Red sent out a seemingly normal male Pikachu, except he is Level 255 and his sprite seems sad and has tears in his eyes Rather than the usual "FIGHTITEMWPKMN/RUN menu, I was only given the option to use the Attacks. Since Celebi only has one, I chose it. Naturally, since Pikachu was Level 255, he went first Anonymous 06/06/10(Sunj22 05 No.4574262 PIKACHU used CURSE", lowering his Speed and increasing his other Stats. Im not even sure if Pikachu could even use Curse "CELEBI used PERISH SONG「In three turns, both Pokemon get KOd-nt like I have a choice this point, it didn't even go back to the Fight menu, as the battle just continued without me. Also note that there was no animations at all for some reason. PIKACHU used FLAILI, which didnt do much damage despite his Level and boost as his health was maxed ℃ELEBI used Pensh Song" Nothing happens as it was already used PIKACHU used FRUSTRATIONr", which did a shiton of damage, knocking Celebi down to less than 10 HP CELEBI used Pain Split!" which surprised me as Celebi didn't even have that attack in the first place. Now Celebi and Pikachu have about 150 HP PIKACHU used MEAN LOOK! Not like that did anything As expected, due to the effects of Perish Song, my Celebi fainted. Except in the text, it said "CELEBI has died! and instead of the ordinary drop off the screen animation, the CELEBI backsprite just vanished. For some reason, the Pikachu was still up even with Perish Song and it didn't count as my lost. Pikachu used one more different attack beyond the 5 attack limit: Afterwards, it said "PIKACHU has died", with a slow fade-out animation. Apparently, I was the winner, as the transparent Red Sprite showed up and said Anonymous 06 06/10(Sun)22:05 No.4574269 At that point,I just freaked out, as that transparent Red sprite was suddenly beheaded, leaving nothing but his transparent body. The battle then ended at that point and faded out along with the music Im back in the overworld, with another change to the Gold sprite he's now as transparent as Red's overworld sprite. I quickly checked Gold's profile, where this time the only thing remains of him is his head, with a transparent skin. The head was zoomed in a bit, showing a black void in his eyes. It now stated that he now has 40 badges. I then backed out and checked my Pokemon. They were all Level 20 Shiny Unown I was at what I now know is next to the end. There was apparently no music playing, but for some reason I still felt like something was there that could be heard. I was back in my room in New Bark Town. Maybe finally I get to play this game properly, but who am I kidding. I knew that sadistic f--- must have done something. I "walked around my room to interact with things, as I'm a bit afraid to go down the stairs to see what was awaiting down there. Note I said walked, as while the background was moving. Gold was not moving his transparent limbs at all while doing so, just floating like those ghosts you see in Diamond/Pean Anonymous 06 06/10(Sun)2206 No.4574284 As expected, the radio, computer, and TV did not work, so I had no choice but to go down the stairs. I ended up in the same lower level room of my house. Everything appears normal, except mom isnt home. After failing to interact with anything in this room, I decided to go outside. To my surprised, that door leading outside at the south didn't work, and instead I just walk straight through it to a void. I continued moving south to see what the f--- was going on. My house vanishes as I head south into the void. It was creepy as when I entered the void, the outline on Gold's transparent sprite turned white to contrast with the pitch black Eventually, I reached a white area and Gold's sprite turned black and transparent again. I continued south without thinking of stopping at all After a long trek south, I finally encountered something. It was GOLD's regular sprite. I talked to it. He said "Good bye forever"(notably with a space inbetween the forever and) and vanished. As that happened, it said "?? used NIGHTMARE" which at that point, I would not deny that being possible. Gold did another Escape Rope animation spinning slowly downwards like before not even wall bumping noise. I Im now back into that small hollowed-out room surrounded by graves earlier. Or at least I say I was back there, as there's no sprite anymore. I tried to walk around but nothing moved checked my trainer profile with absolutely no Gold sprite left. It said I have 0 badges and all the pictures of the Johto Gym Leaders at the bottom were replaced with skulls Anonymous 06/06/10(Sun)22:07 No.4574293 I checked my Pokemon, which were all Level 25 Unown. As expected, it spelled out a phrase that I dared to read. "IMDEAD As soon as I went back to the overworld, the room I supposedly was in was then covered with the same blocks as the walls. I then figured out what exactly that room was when the final text was said: "R.I.P... That room was a big grave, surrounded by other grave. Gold has already been dead. He died presumably a few years after he defeated Red Anonymous 06/06/10(Sun)22:07 No.4574301 He was a young trainer who, despite his efforts in collecting so many badges and attempts at becoming a Pokemon master, was still unable to avoid the inevitable fate of death, and his efforts were eventually I was unable to escape from that text no matter what I pressed. I tried resetting the game, and the same thing happened, at which I then finally decided to give up on that horible nightmare Ater that experience, I will never look at the "gimmick Unown the same way again. They say that only the first generation have folk tales and legends, but the second generation have shown me how unpleasant the truth can be. I eventually enjoyed SoulSilver immensely, but I sti cant unthink what that rigged game have told me END

It was called Candle Cove and I must have been 6 or 7. never found reference to it anywhere so I think it was on a local station around 1971 or 1972. I ived in Ironton at the time. The pirate ship was called the Laughingstock, and Pirate Percy wasn't a very good pirate because he got scared too easily. And there was calliope music constantly playing.
