About

Lunky is a sort of monster which occasionally appears in Markiplier’s videos. It usually screams and jump scares the viewer.

Origin and History

Markiplier is a popular YouTuber known for his silly personality and a deep love for creating funny and scary videos. Another man known as Lixian (who is Markiplier’s editor) was well known for editing his cute avatar into Markiplier’s videos on certain occasions. During a brief part of October, Lixian was on holidays so Markiplier parodied his editor by editing his own little character into the videos, except this character would be the monstrosity seen in the thumbnail of this article. First appearing in Minecraft – Part 18 and 3 Scary Games #60 it was just a small gag. More recently, Markiplier changed his profile picture and account banner to a picture of Lunky and Lunky edited over his normal banner respectively. Markiplier also released another video involving Lixian’s avatar being attacked by Lunky. About 5 hours later, Lixian himself posted this video. The next day, this video was released which also involved Lunky. Markiplier soon after changed his profile and banner back to normal.

Markiplier’s profile picture and banner changing are quite rare, so this might’ve been a surprise to his fans.

It is thought that Lunky’ first appearance was in this episode of Passpartout. Lunky doesn’t actually appear in this episode but Markiplier created some art which resembled him. The thumbnail of the video is also strikingly similar. This was most likely the thing that inspired Markiplier to make Lunky.

Lunky has made a few minor entries in other videos from Markiplier. This article from the Markiplier Wiki explains Lunky in further depth.
