British Army Inadvertently Recreates 'Piper Perri Surrounded' Meme With D-Day Vet

Tuesday morning, the British Army posted a photograph of current army members standing behind 96-year-old Harry Billinge, one of the last living soldiers who participated in 1945's D-Day when Allied forces stormed the beaches of Normandy. Billinge is sitting on a couch, and here's what the picture looks like:
Sappers from @24CdoRE based in Devon paid a personal tribute to one of Britain’s few surviving D-Day veterans at a special event held in Cornwall on the 77th anniversary of the Normandy landings.

Many will likely recognize that this picture looks very similar to a meme that was popular three years ago called Piper Perri Surrounded, an exploitable template starring pornographic actress Piper Perri surrounded by five Black actors on the set of their film Orgy Is The New Black.

If the NSFW meme is the first place your mind went to, don't worry: that's where everyone's mind went to.

The British Army has yet to comment on how their picture of a distinguished veteran resembles a pornographic meme.
