Chester Bennington Found Dead By Suicide
Chester Bennington, best known as the vocalist for Nu-metal and alternative rock band Linkin Park, was found dead at his home in Palos Verdes Estates, Los Angeles County this morning after hanging himself, according to a report from TMZ. He was 41.
Bennington was close with former Audioslave and Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell, who committed suicide on May 18th, 2017. Today would have been Cornell's 53rd birthday.
Bennington developed an enduring musical legacy with Linkin Park, with hits including "In The End", "Crawling", "Numb," "Breaking the Habit," "Shadow Of The Day," and many more. His band's albums Meteora and Hybrid Theory, were two of the biggest albums in alternative music history.
Bennington, who has admitted to considering suicide in the past due to the abuse he endured as a child from an older man, is survived by six children from two marriages.
