Gamers Incensed That Pornhub's Top Video Game Character Of The Year Is Chun-Li ... From 'Fortnite'

About 10 days ago, the adult content site Pornhub released its Christmas present to online news hubs around the globe in the form of its annual year-end report, which breaks down in minute detail just what the world was watching in 2023.

There are goodies in there for publications of all stripes to cover, whether it be each state's particular proclivity, the different preferences between men and women, and the top performers among certain demographics.

For gaming pubs, the big stat to cover is which video game character was the most popular in the past year according to how many searches they received.

It may not surprise gamers to learn that the title for 2023 goes to Chun-Li. It will almost certainly surprise gamers that Pornhub has said that specifically, Chun-Li from Fortnite was 2023's most popular character.

Chun-Li, as you're likely aware, has been a Street Fighter character for 32 years. She was a Fortnite character for 16 months between 2021 and 2022.

This was no error on Pornhub's part. According to their report, they compiled their list by including searches that included both the character's name and video game title to avoid confusing video game characters with performers who have similar names. Thus, it appears people were really searching "Chun-Li Fortnite" this year instead of "Chun-Li Street Fighter."

This was devastating news to some gamers, who were saddened to see one of the most iconic women in gaming reduced to her Fortnite cameo.

In other news, Star Wars was the most popular category in movies, while Fortnite itself took the crown for video games in general.
