The much-anticipated sequel to 2018's God of War, God of War: Ragnarok has finally been revealed to come out with a release date on November 9th, 2022, much to the excitement of every PlayStation gamer.

The news also came with a new teaser trailer for the game, showing the characters Kratos and Atreus in battle with various enemies on a cliffside, before coming face to face with the large doggo Fenrir, which is an important character in the story of the Norse Ragnarok.

Due to the overwhelming success of the first game, and the polish of the things that have been shown already, many are already calling the game another "W" for Sony, which has had a string of positively received releases on the PlayStation 5 since it's release.

On that note, some are already starting to compare the game to Elden Ring, which was also highly anticipated and beat every expectation when it came out. With so many people sure that Elden Ring will be sweeping every award category it's nominated in, it will be interesting to see how Ragnarok stacks up against it.

As usual with a new game release, there are several different versions that can be obtained, with Launch Edition, Digital Deluxe Edition, Collector's Edition and a new tier called Jotnar Edition. The difference between the editions is that Launch Edition has the basic game plus some downloadable content, the Digital Deluxe edition comes with a digital mini artbook to clog more of your system data for a week before you delete it, as well as cosmetic DLC and the soundtrack.

The Collector's Edition is a large step-up, with a replica of Mjolnir, a storage case, Dwarven Dice, a steelbook and two wood carvings being included. The Jotnar Edition contains everything previously mentioned, except it also throws in a pin set, a 7-inch vinyl album, a ring from the game and a cloth map. Though prices have yet to be shown, most people are expecting the Jotnar Edition to be in the $250 range.

Noticeably, however, is that all editions besides Launch Edition do not feature a game disc, causing confusion among gamers who prefer the disc versions of games, especially because a Steelbook is included but has nothing to go in it.
