'Saw' Pulls Its Scariest Trick Yet: NSFW Twitter Posts

The Saw movies are well known for their titular villain Jigsaw, but they may now be known for their titillating villain Jigsaw.

Yesterday, the official Twitter account for Saw participated in a PR stunt where it was "held hostage" by gimmick Twitter account Saw Quotes, who caused a ruckus by retweeting fan art and doing a gentle parody of the Saw movies throughout the day. However, by far the most notable Saw Quotes contribution was an image of a shiny, muscular, mostly-nude Jigsaw created by Jason Ebeyer.

There really is so much to take in here. The spiral nipples are a particularly nice touch, as is the tricycle and Jigsaw's Chippendales-y bowtie. You gotta hand it to the Saw Quotes guy: he saw his chance and took it.

If anything, it certainly put Jigsaw at the top of Twitter's mind ahead of the next film in the franchise, Spiral: Saw. Most users quote-tweeted with abject horror at the scariest image of Jigsaw perhaps ever produced.

After the success of Lady Dimitrescu's presence hyping up the new Resident Evil game, it's easy to see why posting your villain as a sex symbol might be appealing to other horror franchises. Jigsaw may seem like a particularly strange character to make a gigantic himbo, but who are we to judge? Clearly, it worked.
